Alice hadn't even responded to Morgan's appearance yet. Not even I had fully comprehended to situation yet. Before I knew it Genki was in my hands and Morgan was gone.
"What just happened?" Alice asked.
I shrugged and looked at Genki. His eyes were looking at my new grappling hook. It's a good thing I didn't buy a new weapon. It would have been a pain carrying two different weapons.
"I guess we should resume our little adventure?" I suggested.
Alice nodded and turned to face the road ahead. I attached Genki to my waist and began walking forwards with Alice right next to me. After multiple interruptions we could finally resume. I just hoped nothing unexpected would happen.
We had finally managed to reach the great jungle of this floor. It was a lot bigger than I expected. It's still hard to believe we're in one giant tree. The ground suddenly began to shake and loud footsteps could be heard close by. The sound sound suddenly stopped and the grounded stopped shaking too. An eerie quiet fell over us.
"I've got a bad feeling about this." I said, looking around cautiously.
Vines suddenly shot out through the trees and were moving towards us. I quickly used Genki to move myself away the vines while Alice just barely dodged it by diving out of the way. The vines suddenly retracted and grabbed onto the trees. The trees were suddenly whipped from the ground and thrown at us.
Without hesitation I grabbed onto Alice and used Genki to propel us away from the trees. Despite how fast we were, we had just barely managed to dodge the attack. What even was that anyway? All I could see were vines.
"Alice, any idea what we're up against?" I asked, looking at where the trees once were.
"A forest giant…" Alice responded quietly.
I gave her a worried look for a moment. It wasn't long until the ground began to shake. A loud boom could be heard getting closer and closer to us. I doubt we could beat that thing so that left us with only one option.
Before I could set my plan in motion the giant came bursting through the trees and was running directly towards us. I grabbed onto Alice again and shot us away from the giant.
"Genki, fire us into the air real quick!" I yelled, still holding onto Alice.
Genki did as I asked and shot all three of us into the air. I quickly sheathed Genki. I aimed my arm at one of the tree branches so we could swing away but I had forgotten something important. I still need to press the button to shoot the hook, or so I thought.
