Alice had a face of shock but was soon replaced with annoyance. I gave her a funny look for a moment before turning back to face where Eli was coming.
The sound of footsteps could be heard walking down the stairs. The sound echoed through the room causing everyone to be quiet. When we could finally see him I noticed that he seemed rather charming.
"Why are you giving him the death glare Alice? Did he do something to you?" I asked.
"Our families were close friends, they still are. But whenever they would come over Eli would always flirt with me. Like all the time." Alice said.
That definitely explained why she seemed so annoyed when she first heard his name. I continued looking at Eli as he walked down the stairs and finally reached the end.
Everyone at the party began greeting and congratulating Eli on his win. 'What did he do to earn this party again? Did Morgan even say anything about what he did?' I thought to myself.
Everyone at the party soon returned to their conversations while Eli continued to walk around. He soon noticed that I was looking at him and gave me a friendly wave. Alice turned away from him and avoided eye contact. I let out a small sigh and waved back. Eli began walking over to me and gave me a large smile.
"Haven't seen you two before, what family do you two come from? Perhaps the Leigner? No, that can't be it. How about the Govlar?" Eli asked.
Before we could say anything I heard my name being called, as well as Alice's. Alice and I turned towards where we heard the voice and saw Serene walking towards us.
"There you two are, I've been trying to find you for what felt like ages. This party is huge!" Serene said.
Eli gave us a funny look before looking at Alice who was still turned away from him. He took a step back and gave us a confused look. I shrugged and put my hands in my pockets.
"If she doesn't want to talk to me then I shall leave her alone. You still did never answer my question though. What family are you from? Actually never mind. What is your name?" Eli asked.
"I'm John. The girl who's avoiding you is Alice. We're only here because Morgan made us go in his place." I said.
"That explains why I didn't see Morgan. I should have known he wouldn't attempt again. No matter, I'm sure you three will make up for his absence." Eli said with a smile.
Eli waved us goodbye and walked away from us. Alice let out a large sigh of relief and turned back around. I gave her a strange look before turning around and looking at the party. Once again, I saw someone familiar walk by. This time I could make some details out. They seemed almost exactly like the girl I saw in my dreams.
I began trying to follow the girl leaving my friends alone. I ended up walking next to Eli and made eye contact with him for a brief second. He stopped what he was doing and began following me. I rolled my eyes and continued following the girl.
