A group of 6 people are gathered in a large plaza, they're waiting for the start of a raid, with a bustling city around them. Each person has a futuristic headset over their eyes and seem excited.
One of the older boys stands on one of the park benches, he has short black hair with green eyes and looks around seventeen. He's still dressed in his school uniform that consist of a dark blue collared shirt and a pair of khaki pants.
"Listen up everyone!" The boys yells and the chatter around the area slowly gets lower until it stop's completely. "I'm Ben, the co-leader of the clan. I know some of you out here are new and haven't completed a raid yet so I just wanted to tell you all good luck and if you're having any trouble let me or Conway know."
Another boy steps up onto the bench with Ben, he's African-American with short dreads and a blue streak in his hair. He has brown eyes with the same type of uniform as Ben. "Hey, everyone. I'm Conway, I was the one that invited most of you to the clan." Conway says. "We'd normally have a third leader but he's not answering."
"So in a few minutes, we'll activate "Hyper Zone" and the raid is going to begin." Ben says "Those of you that have ranged Divinities try to stay behind the ones that have the more melee and close ranged Divinities. Got it?"
Several people in the crowd nodded.
Ben and Conway jump down, pulling their AR headsets down onto their eyes. "Here we go. HYPER ZONE ACTIVATE!" Ben yells followed by the other members of the group doing the same.
The area around the players transforms into a fiery, hell-like city. The clothes of the players changed into some armored spandex suit, each players suit was different variations with some being black or white to red and blue and everything in between.
"There should be a wave of adds, try to take care of those before the Reaver spawns in." Ben says and his messages is relayed through the others headset.
Two portals appeared, swirling with red and Orange energy, followed by dozens of monsters coming through. These monsters are large blood red wolves called Bloodstalkers. Its fur is slick and shiny, and its eyes glow with a bright crimson light. It has razor-sharp teeth and claws that can shred through armor.
"Conway, get to the front. I'll provide cover from the back." Ben says.
Conway makes a run for the front lines, he puts both his arms out on either side of him and chains burst from the palms of his hands. These chains are made of yellow energy and act as tendrils. Conway uses the chains to do a sweeping attack that hits several of the Bloodstalkers turning them into bits of data.
Meanwhile Ben is dodging three Bloodstalkers that are chasing after him. They get Ben backed into a wall and slowly close in on him. He raises his hands and four small white portals open above his hand, he brings his hands down to the form of him and says "Lucent Strike." Several blades made of white energy shoot from the portals and strike the Bloodstalkers, immediately turning them into data.
Other member of the clan are taking on their share of the Bloodstalkers, then a larger gate opens swirling with a black and grey color but this time it wasn't more adds but a larger monster. It was the Onyx Reaver, a large 10ft tall monstrous figure with large horns out the top of its head and orange eyes that burned with hatred. It's holding a spear tip attached to a long metal chain.
"Yo, that's not the Reaver we were notified about!" Conway says as he slays three of the Bloodstalkers.
"Maybe it's an event boss?" Ben says. "Everyone stay back until we know it's movements.
The Onyx Reaver exits the portal and let's put a roar that sends chills up Ben's spine.
Three of the new players run towards the Onyx Reaver, in hopes to get the exotic reward that comes from killing a boss Reaver.
"No! Get back, it's going to drain your hp and you'll be taken out the game!" Conway yells.
The Onyx Reaver begins to spin its spear above its head, it's spinning faster then Ben can see.
"GET BACK!" Ben yells.
"It's no use, they're not listening." Conway says.
The Onyx Reaver swings it's spear and hits all three of the players, Ben and Conway watch as their HP hits zero.
"I'll distract it, you power up your special move." Conway says and runs towards the Reaver.
Ben puts his hands out to the side of him, opening two white portals, then brings his hands to the top of his head and two more portals form.
Conway is running towards the Onyx Reaver, he has his chains trailing behind him ready for an attack. The Onyx Reaver throws its spear, aiming towards Conway. Conway is able to slide underneath it and wraps one of his chains around the Reavers leg.
"Gotcha." Conway says.
The Reavers chain wraps around Conway and squeeze tight around his body.
"Ahhhhh" Conway yells in pain. "What the hell is going on? This actually hurts me." Conways HP begins to drain quickly.
Ben has five portals open and hundreds of swords around him. "HEAVENS STORM" Ben yells and releases all of the swords. They shoot off in the direction of the Reaver, hitting it and making it stumble backwards. The chain wrapped around Conway loosen and he's able to pull himself away using his own chains.
Ben helps him up, seeing Conways HP is almost almost depleted. "Dude you can't take on another hit like that." Ben says.
"I don't want to. It actually hurt me." Conway says. "Was that your finisher?" He asks.
"It was." Ben says as they look at the Reaver, whose health barley depleted at all. "What the hell is going on?"
"I don't know, maybe we should shut the game down." Conway says. "What you think?"
"Sure. Maybe it's a glitch." Ben says and places his hand on the side of his Hyperlens. "Hyper Zone Deactivate." Ben waits a second but nothing happens.
"It's not working." Conway says. "I can't even power down the headset."
The Reaver starts to run towards Ben and Conway, it's swinging it's spear ready to launch an attack. It gets a few feet away from them when a purple smoky figure hits the Reaver, knocking it off it's balance.
A figure appears to come from the ground, it's a girl with purple hair, she's wearing a purple tank top and black leggings and she has a thick purple smoke coming off of her body.
"Your in-game attacks hurt that thing." The girl says. "Why don't y'all just sit back and let us take this thing out." Her purple eyes look intensely at the Reaver.
"Y'all?" Ben asks. "What's going on?"
Another figure comes crashing down in a burst of flames. When the dust clears, Ben and Conway make out one of their classmates. He has blond buzz cut hair, blue eyes with a armored black tank top and khaki pants.
"PARKER?" Conway yells.
