"What do you think? Should we attack head on or try to kite that thing?" Thor looked at Freya, he could see she was thinking. It was almost the same look that Marcus had when coming up with something. So he let her be well he scanned the room. Three pedestals were against the back wall, the room was about 50*50 meters so there was lots of room, however there was no other obstacles. The only question in Thor's mind was how fast would that snake be. With his close quarters combat style he was wondering if he could even survive one round of attacks. Freya was also looking around the room. He could tell she was formulating a plan of attack.
"It'll be impossible for us to both kite this guy, you should quick equip your healing potions instead of you mana potions. I'll give you most of mine as well. I'll take most of your mana potions. We'll both keep our cure poison potions, this mostly because I think that it might have a spitting attack as well. You should rush to attack. Once he goes to attack you use your superior strike even if you're not in range. You just want to get close without being hit first. Then you need stay close to him and attack as much as possible. I have a feeling his defense is going to be several times higher then what we faced on the way here. Watch out for his tail chances are he has some kind of attack that can get close to his body from there. When you are attacking him stay close to the right side of his body and watch the middle of his body, if you see it swing the opposite direction immediately dodge to the left to try to avoid his attack. This will probably work for awhile, but once he gets used to that he'll probably try to squish you by running you over. It doesn't matter which side you dodge after that as long as you do immediately, this is where the biggest problem of our plan will show its self. He'll effectively cut off your path from side to side and will be able to attack with his tail and you'll have only one place to go which will be further in the direction you already dodged. This will also expose you to his main attack. Once he attacks you with his mouth, quickly use your superior strike to get back in front of him. As a snake he's not going to have a wide variety of attacks so we should be able to use that pattern against him for the majority of the fight. In the mean time I'll use my triple shot with out stop it does more damage if just barely, I also be by the wall most of the time. I'm also going to make my way to those pedestals hopefully one of those three treasure can give us an immediate advantage. The biggest thing to remember is we need to keep him out in the open, the walls are not our friend in this fight. If you find yourself getting to close to the wall immediately run back to the center of the room but in a zig zag pattern. Once your back to the middle, wait till he tries to attack then repeat the process. At anytime if he hits you immediately use health potions till you're at full health I highly doubt you can sustain two hits from him, the only time you don't use health potions right away is if you're poisoned, then take care of that first. Are you ready?" Freya was still looking at the King Cobra, but as she looked at Thor she realized that his blank look said he didn't quite get all of that. " OK come here give me one of your swords."
"Well you just talk so fast." Thor pouted.
"Nevermind I'm going to draw it out for you." She took his sword and explained the plan one more time while also giving visuals." Do you see what I mean now?" Freya couldn't believe that this guy was a top player he basically had no brain for this kind of stuff.
"Got it. At least I think I do. It's amazing how you got all that just from looking at the King Cobra. I'm impressed." Freya couldn't shake the feeling that it wasn't hard to impress Thor." Well no point in waiting around let's go." She also thought their was a fine line between bravery and stupidity and she wasn't quite sure which side he fell on, however she was definitely leaning towards the latter.
Thor charged the King Cobra as soon he came through the door, just like Freya predicted the snake attacked when he was in range. Thor started to follow the plan like water flowing down hill. He really seemed to have no problem. After Thor had injured the King Cobra a few times, Freya immediately started to fire her Triple Shot with out stop. As Thor was dodging for the fourth time the King Cobra charged, that was fast we haven't even taken 5% of his life yet. At least he hasn't used a spit attack yet. In fact he isn't even paying me any mind whatsoever. This is good. Freya was already halfway to the pedestals containing the three treasures. As time passed Freya continued to get closer to pedestals, however as she passed the three quarter mark she began to see what looked like a slight glow surrounding them. So it won't be that easy it looks like defeating this boss is the only way to get those treasures, but just in case I'll still try it. It may be the treasures themselves giving off that glow. Not long after Freya made it to the pedestals. However now Freya could see that the glow was created by the pedestals themselves, creating a type off barrier. Damn it well this was a long shot anyway I guess we'll have to do it with out whatever is here. Freya refocused and started firing her Triple Shot skill by this time they had managed to take away nearly 15% of it's life. This battle is going to be long I should switch to normal arrows for now and wait till it's at 10% of it's life force before going all out. The battle had already caused multiple holes in the floor from where The King Cobra's attacks that had missed Thor. I hope Thor can keep his concentration on those holes as well if he steps in one he'll be off balance, and may suffer a hit. Almost as if Freya had seen the future Thor stumbled in one of the holes that had been created, the King Cobra didn't waste time and promptly smacked him with his tail. Shit 90% of his life went down just like that, at least he's got blown out of attack range. However now that Thor was quite far away from the King Cobra, it decided to use it's spit attack." Dodge!!!" Freya shouted Alerting the snake to her presence suddenly a stream off venom was coming at her. Shit, Freya cursed in her mind." Thor you need to recapture it's attention otherwise this battle will get even harder!!" Freya was running as she said this. Thor nodded and ran back to the King Cobra. Once he started attacking the snake no longer gave him any attention, it was focused solely on Freya with it's venom attack.
"I have an idea!" Thor yelled. It's crazy but hopefully it works. Thor started running up the King Cobra's back. He was still being ignored, just how strong is this thing. We've only managed to take about 50% of it's life and it's completely ignoring me running on it. Freya couldn't figure out what Thor was doing this wasn't part of the plan. That idiot was going to get them both killed, he needed to go back to what was working. Once Thor got to the head of the snake he put one of his swords away and used two hands to plunge the one sword as deep as he could into the King Cobra's brain at least that's what he hoped he was aiming for. He also came into the King Cobra on an angle trying to lodge his sword there so he'd have a hand hold on the snake. Immediately the King Cobra started to thrash around as his life started was draining rapidly.
Freya was stunned in fact she even stopped moving, he's goddamn crazy.
" What the hell are you waiting for shoot it, I can't hold on forever!!" Thor couldn't believe it Freya was just standing there like an idiot. How ever once he yelled at her she immediately brought her bow up and started rapidly firing her Triple Shot skill. " God damnit Freya get close and aim for it's eyes if I get thrown off it's definitely coming for me and it'll be mad as hell!!" Thor wanted a blind opponent if that happened. With one attack he had done nearly 30% damage already but the King Cobra was all over the place it had already crashed into the wall twice trying to dislodge him. Suddenly the King Cobra went limp, Thor was just about to remove his sword when Freya shouted.
"It playing possum don't pull that sword out in fact stick your other on in as well!!" Freya wasn't sure but she didn't want to take chances.
Thor held fast to his one sword and with all his might thrust his other sword into the side of the King Cobra's head. It didn't go as deep but with his swords crossing he wouldn't be thrown off if the snake really wasn't dead. Just as Freya said it wasn't dead the new sword enraged the King Cobra further, but it only lasted a few seconds before he once again crashed to the ground. They both heard the familiar sound of leveling up. Thor just barely well Freya was already halfway to level 11. Thor was ecstatic now he could get to the capital much quicker, and he would also have a magic weapon as well." I think we should have done that from the start what do you think?" Thor smiled at Freya.
"You're an idiot it was through sheer dumb luck that that worked. What were you thinking?" Freya couldn't believe he was smiling. The man was a moron.
" Hey it worked didn't it?" Thor looked a little hurt. " Besides now we can go to the capital, you could at least thank me. Anyway let's go see what's on those pedestals." Thor suited his own words and started walking over to them. "Hey how come there is a barrier still here?"
"What? That's not possible the we already killed the boss." Freya could see no other way to have that barrier removed, do we need a mage? Freya couldn't help but wonder if they would have to come back to get their treasures. Would it even be worth it.
"I'm afraid that would be my fault." Both Freya and Thor spun around with their weapons drawn. However it was the Potions Master from the Barracks so they both lowered them. What was he doing here?
