Chapter 10 - A Kingdom of

[Sam perspective]

This place is even creepier than the Demon Kingdom...

Kingdom of Ghosts? I think ghosts do exist but is there really a ghost king and besides that there's a sign here...

'To the right of this Kingdom, is the Kingdom of the Undead.'

Two supernatural kingdoms coexisting? Maybe they are against each other.

"Yo."

Ah! A spooky scary skeleton.

"I'm so misunderstood. I only want to socialize."

"Nice to meet you...skeleton."

"Good! You've finally shaken off your fear. Any member of the Undead Kingdom can detect fear. Some... manipulate it."

The skeleton's voice doesn't sound evil but casual and comforting.

"Have you come to take my soul!?"

"Not yet."

As if that response made me at ease!

"I made a joke human. We do not need souls for our goals unlike the demons."

Now that I think about it...I wasn't able to witness the other side of the ability to take souls. Lord Gen implied there was another way to use it.

"What we do need is more dead beings."

I knew it it's come to kill me.

"More undead fuels the heart of the kingdom and makes all members stronger just by a bit. We are twice as strong now compared to a time in the Great War. We've established another source for undead."

"So is it even safe to be around undead?"

"Nope. Many will immediately kill you."

This is too straightforward.

"For now let's form a party. I've been sent by the king to explore ou-this kingdom's Great Library. A place for powerful spells and of course common spells."

"Can anyone use magic?"

"No you must be of royalty."

The skeleton proceeds to use levitate to put me up higher than I've ever been in the sky but safely lands me on the ground. This is a cruel way of sarcasm!

"Teach me something then."

"Denied. I did not register as teacher back at the guild but I'm registered as a mage."

Surprisingly the skeleton knew its way around this kingdom and no ghosts have come out to harm us. This kingdom is even bigger than the Kingdom of Angels maybe twice as huge. I see now why it's The Great Library.

How can a library be bigger than the palace!? Unless...

The Kingdom of The Undead looked pretty small. It looked like a tomb for a Titan turned into a city. Titans are like really big but not that big. I should've read the history book more.

"Look for a spell book here. Try not to activate a spell book that leads to your death...or the Throne Room."

I knew it. This library is the palace or castle of some sort.

I'm curious. I'll get that book to the Throne Room.

I started touching every book and even inflicted poison on myself!

I was very lucky to find a healing book in time. I just hold the book and I feel better. Could there be a book of Experience that works like this??

"Infernus."

Jackpot a flexible book! It can be enchanted on an item or just cast directly. I'll hire an enchanter someday.

"I thought I told you to keep your hands off the books. Since you'll die, I'll show you the 'rumor' of this kingdom first."

I opened my eyes again after hearing those words and...it looks like I'm in the Throne Room. It's bland like the Throne Room for the Angels. Red carpets. Dust. Big webs.

Of course it's bland this is an old abandoned room!

I was so focused on judging my surroundings I forgot that skeleton cast a spell.

"I've ascended as a necromancer...you wanted me to teach you magic? Here it comes!"

The skeleton just gained a black robe. I hope he's just testing the magic out and not really an enemy...

10 skeletons were summoned.

"Attack!"

Before the command of attack was even issued, I destroyed them all.

They came back to life?

"Your sword means nothing! Go on break me. I'll reform right away."

"Wait before I die! Where are the Ghosts?"

"These are the Ghosts."

The necromancer ripped open the floor and revealed undead humans that...don't look like skeletons. Preserved dead most likely.

"A stupid hero comes here regularly researching ways to free these humans but we've dealt with the hero."

"No you haven't"

Another voice comes into battle and before I could speak. The necromancer was gone.

"Thanks! I didn't have the spell to open the portal to the lost humans."

"Who are you?"

I raised my sword.

"I'm Mag. It's rude to point with a sword. I have a kingdom to restore."

The masked figure was wearing regular magician clothes. The kind of clothes you saw at a child's magic show. I saw one when I escape from my training.

"Are you strong?"

"You would die if I took off the cape that suppresses my magic power"

I thought it was the mask or some sort of ring.

"Are you not ready to bring back the humans from the history books?"

"You can do that??"

"If you stay far far away so you don't die."
