The next five days was been really hard for me. Plus, the tough and head-spinning work I have. I want to quit but I was in amidst of nonplus, knowing my degree was referring to it.
"Lana, Mrs. Romano wanted to talk to you," Shaira said after placing the clothes to the wooden table.
"Okay," I answer in a daze.
It's been days since I've got into this. I can't still move on to what he's done to me in the lake. The way his hand rubbing my arm recurrently has sent me to a state of distraction.
"Are you okay?" She asks and I nod.
She nods skeptically. I know she is guessing what was the root of my unstable state. But I assure she couldn't find it.
After I finished what I am doing. My feet bring me to our boss's office. I didn't see her even though I am working on her company. I knock three times and the door creak and I saw a man on a tuxedo.
He is tall and muscular. He has a beard on his face but it looks him more handsome really. He smiles at me and I beam quickly just so he wouldn't upset. He escorts me to where my boss is. I sat down on the brown clothed chair firmly stood beside the table.
"She's here, love." The man announces.
My brows lift up after hearing what the man had say. I just wait for her to face me. Multiple thoughts came before the swivel chair turns leisurely. When our eyes meet, my jaw almost dropped in surprise.
"Lana?" Her pupils dilated.
"Auntie..." I say and she stands up and goes to me.
I stand up and meet her. She hugs me without hesitation and I could feel her zealousness to me. It's been years since she left and our communication had been cut off. She loosens the grip and cups my cheeks.
"How are you? You look so... pretty." She wipes my hair and places it to the side.
"I'm okay, but neither her happy to see you here." I remind her.
She removes her hands and frown. I know they're both not in good terms, but I know mom will hear her words.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean it..." I know that was harsh and literally stupid.
She manages to smile. "It's okay, I can't blame her."
I look at the ground in contrition. I shouldn't say that knowing it would hurt her really. I was so stupid and insensitive.
"By the way, I called you here to come up with a promotion. I'm sorry, I can't just... believe this is happening." She apologizes after staring at me for seconds.
"Me too, who would think this day would come. I never expected this and so you." I say and she smiles.
"I am glad that you are here. Hope you enjoy here and... have time with me." She suggests and we both laugh.
"I miss this!" She speaks.
"Me too." I smile and she hugs me again.
I was happy that I found her, I found my long lost tita who chose to left, to find a job for her future. I am so proud of her.
