Due to me being mesmerized by the scenery; I couldn't help but ignore the fact that someone had just teleported behind me. Though it wasn't like I would've noticed the figure even if I was focused beyond all limits—he probably had abilities that gave him the ability to sneak up on anyone, be it mortal or a god.
"Hey!" a voice came from behind me, filled to the brim with bloodlust and killing intent.
The sheer magnitude and density of the aura of utter bloodlust and killing intent was so great that I had completely forgot the familiarity I had with the voice. And because of that, I couldn't help myself from thinking that there was a beast––kilometers in length and billions of kilograms in weight looking at me with a cold stare, filled with bloodlust, while smiling like a lunatic.
It was to such an extent that I started to feel the build up of the cold sweat and even felt the air shake and get colder––it wasn't what I would call a good sensation.
"AHHH!!!" I screamed in absolute terror as I turned back, looking the source of the voice.
Even though I knew whose voice it was, I still couldn't help myself from screaming like a character in a horror movie.
As I looked back, just like I had expected, there was a white figure. Someone with whom I had created a genuine relationship with––a friend. He had no facial features what so ever; and now that I looked at him a little more closely, he would've fit perfectly in a horror-comedy, if by some unholy it existed––I really hoped it didn't, though.
"Did you really have to!" I voiced out my complaint. "Do you even realize just how terrifying your bloodlust is!? It felt like a freaking world-ending monster was looking straight at my soul with a gaze that could kill!"
I sighed as I looked at him with a face of disappointment.
"Hehe!" Lo Recant giggled to himself. "Sorry, but I just couldn't stop myself from messing with you."
Lo Recant continued, "So, is there any questions that you need before you go? After all, you have unlocked the first ever ability of your skill by yourself!"
"You mean Prophet?" I asked.
Lo Recant nodded to my words.
"Actually, no," I replied. "Though, I still have something to talk with you!"
There was anger in my voice; after all, I was angry at him kicking me without telling me about it.
Lo Recant hearing my voice knew exactly why I was angry, but instead of countering with facts and logic, he didn't do anything and just let me have it. I didn't like it, but I was happy that I didn't have to be embarrassed––again.
"Why did you have to kick me! I mean sure, I know that you knew about Prophet, but still!?" I complained. "Do you not realize how terrifying it is to be kicked by you, and also that high?"
"I apologize for that," Lo Recant wryly said, but even though he said it like that, I could feel that he was truly apologizing.
I didn't even think of the possibility that he was tricking me. Though even if I tried, I would probably despair at the fact that I couldn't find it as he probably had thousands of years' worth of acting experience.
I sighed as I looked at Lo Recant, "Well, I know why you did it, let just forget about it."
I didn't want to deal with it, so I used the tactic which I had used, a lot, in my previous life––ignore/forget the problem.
"Sure," Lo Recant replied. "But I really don't like looking at this destroyed scenery, say, how about I spice it up?"
I nodded.
I was happy that he asked me about my opinion, but in reality, he didn't have to. After all, I was the weaker one here, the lesser one; my opinion wasn't needed. But even if he did so without my opinion, I wouldn't mind it, I wanted to see what was an interesting scenery in my eyes.
As I was thinking that, Lo Recant suddenly started shining. The moment he did, I could feel an enormous amount of mana being released from him. The mana released from him seemed quite familiar––it was the same feeling I had felt when using The Breath Of Ouroboros.
But I was too surprised to realize it, so I did nothing but looking at him––completely in awe.
Then in the next moment, Lo Recant started to shine even more as the light started to expand from him in a spherical fashion. It didn't even take the light a second to cover my entire vision in a white expanse.
Just seeing the light shining from Lo Recant made me feel amazed; it didn't take a genius to find out how I was feeling when I didn't just see the light, but felt it––all around me.
The white expanse, which was covering my vision, started to dim out, vanishing, slowly. And in a second, it completely vanished; replacing the white expanse was a scenery which would perfectly fit in paradise.
The new scene had its time flowing like normal, so there weren't any inverted color shenanigans––which made the scenery just that much better. Just looking around a little, I could easily make out many flying islands, some small, some large. The waterfall which fell from them and touched the ground, looked very beautiful. There were magical bridges connecting them––those bridges would have perfectly fit in the home of the Father.
All of that information blessed my eyes with just a single glance, now that I was now "looking around" with all my senses; it was now all the better.
I could see magical constructs having many ancient magical runes carved into them––just looking at them made me realize just how much knowledge, wisdom, and history was crammed into it. It was amazing! But that wasn't all, the trees around me had even more mana in them than normal. They were a lot bigger and greener, and somehow felt even more "natural". I could see some villages in them, they looked really cool––the sad thing was they were all abandoned.
The beautiful clear water, the abundance of greenery and nature, the majestic sights of magical constructs and flying islands––which were connected by magical bridges. The only thing missing were creatures inhabiting them.
But it wasn't just my sense of sight which was stimulated, it was all of my senses––amplifying what I was already seeing by at least a bazillion!
The air felt so clean, so clear, that just breathing it gave me energy; but only that, it also had the perfect temperature, making me feel bliss. Words couldn't describe how good I was feeling.
The smell of all the things in the area gave this place a unique ancient smell, just smelling it made me realize just how much history this place had––not something which I had expected to find from this sense.
And there were a lot more things which stimulated my senses like no other. It was so great that I couldn't even think of words to describe. Basically, I was speechless.
While in the midst of being mesmerized by my surroundings, Lo Recant made a sound of clearing one's throat. Hearing that I quickly got a hold of myself and looked at him.
"Sorry, but this scenery was just too much," I said. "Whe- what is it?"
Lo Recant heard me and started thinking to himself; after a second he replied, "That's for the future. It's in this world, but is nigh impossible to find, if you want to find it, you're really going to have to a lot of hard things."
Hearing him say that made me, again, look at this majestic environment. After being satisfied, I nodded to myself. I finally had a goal which wasn't just straight up slaughter or messing around. It was finding this divine place.
"Ok," I replied. "Anyways, I'm really sorry for asking it, but do you have any ideas what I should do for the future?"
"You do what you want, there is nothing I am going to tell you about that; it's your own life, so you're obliged to do what you want," he replied. "Though, if I had to say… you could try to roleplay as someone you're not, how about roleplaying as a demon king?"
"Sure," I wryly said.
I couldn't help but think to myself that he knows me better than even myself. It seems that I now have another goal which I wanted to do.
Thinking about that, I suddenly remembered that there was one trope which all bad guys and villains wanted, world domination. I knew that it was a stupid goal, but still, it was a goal––and a cool one at that––so I had no choice but to make that my main goal for this life––wanted to roleplay as a demon king, after all.
Seeing that I had already made up my decision in my mind, Lo Recant looked at me, "So, say when you're ready, I am going to seal most of your power and teleport you back to the past, though only by a little."
Hearing that, I looked at him and nodded while I replied, "Ok, just give me some moments."
After that, I started thinking, planning for the future. It was the first time I had ever done so, and if it wasn't then I had probably forgotten about the first time. I didn't know, but right now, there was a conflicting feeling inside me. But I didn't care enough about it to worry, just started thinking while ignoring it.
It took me about ten seconds, but I was done thinking about all the things I need to think about. Then with resolve in my eyes, I looked at Lo Recant, "I'm done, send me back!"
I couldn't help but release bloodlust and the sadistic intent I had, after all, I was going to give those orcs one hell of a time.
Lo Recant didn't say anything about it and just nodded, "Sorry, but I have to hammer these points down, so listen carefully: You have authority over life, death, and rebirth, your divine skills grow with you and are special, you can make them do anything within their power, but most importantly, you're going to have a hard time."
I couldn't do anything but nod, as I didn't know how to answer them.
Lo Recant then put his arms forward––and just like with his face, they had no details whatsoever, quite trippy––and looked at me. He didn't say anything as a ball of light started to form on his palm. That ball then slowly traveled to me, even with my lack of knowledge towards magic, I knew that this ball had some complex spells in it; it was akin to seeing one of those complex equations required for spatial inflation, gravitons collapse, temporal tearing, and other complex black magic.
But I stopped thinking about it and let the ball hit me. The ball started to seep into my body as my body started shining. The shining was little at first, but slowly, it started to get stronger. And as it got stronger, its effect on my body started to become more and more apparent. I felt as if my soul was being molded and my being was being changed. It blocked some "connections" ––I didn't know how to explain it––and also made my entire body feel heavier. It was strange, weird, even otherworldly; but I accepted it.
[*Warning*]
I then started to get a massive slew of warning notifications, which I rightfully ignored. Though because I did that, I felt an aura of irritation come out from Lo Recant.
"Sorry!" I apologized to him as I started looking at what my notifications meant.
Due to the status window being governed by my wisdom skill, I was capable of dumbing the information down, making it easier to digest and understand it.
[*Warning* Mana Blockage Detected; Foreign Limiter Activated; Skill/Abilities Potency Reduction Detected *Warning*]
Seeing it and understanding it made the aura of irritation released from Lo Recant die down. It also made me understand just what the white ball was doing. Blocking my mana, reducing the effectiveness of my mana recovery; adding limiters to make it impossible for me to release more than 10% of my total power; reducing the potency of my skills and abilities––especially in a combat encounter. There was more to it, but that was the gist.
It took five seconds, but in that time, I suddenly started to feel more sluggish that I had ever had; my body felt like it was made of solid Gallos, my perception and detection ability both felt like they were 10 times slower than before––even though it was only a 0.9x decrease. If I had to judge, I currently felt like a level 15-16 being. Which really said a lot considering that I was a level 19, Divine Race, Ascendant Rank Dragon––easily capable of fighting against level 20-22.
