Chapter 17 - Side Chapter: The Daily Life Of A Rat Pt.1

On a bright sunny day, just a day before a mysterious dragon egg hatched, in a city, inside a colony of 100 or so rats, a strange and peculiar rat was born.

The moment the rat was born, a massive wave of divine energy was released from the said rat.

The divine energy was so massive and powerful, that, if the rat hadn't absorbed it the moment it had released it, the entire city, nay, the entire country would've probably been destroyed.

It was the amount of divine energy that even gods, though lesser, would kill to have.

But, since, the rat had absorbed all of that energy the instant it had been born, no one, not even the strongest gods of the world, were aware of a being, who was so powerful, or could have been, was born.

The rats all looked at the "child" who had already been big as its mother, with surprise, confusion, but most importantly, awe.

The newborn had still not awoken, but even then, all the rats in that had been close to the site of birth, were all looking at the newborn child with religious intent.

(AN: Yes, it is the rat Jesus.)

They all started to "bow down", and started praying to the new born child - who still hadn't awoken.

The amount of zeal they had was so astonishingly high, that they had completely ignored the rat's mother, who had just gotten vaporized due to the flux of divine energy.

But, even more surprising than that was the fact that the newborn child had made the rats, who were very dumb creatures, feel emotions such as the ones they were feeling now.

There wasn't anything not divine about the act, nay, you could even say that it was an act of the world itself.

It was about 10 minutes after the birth, and the rat had still not awoken.

But the rats who were currently feeling religious, no, very religious, didn't mind it. They were just happy that they had found salvation that the purpose of their lives had been fulfilled.

There was also another change; the amount of rats had increased, dramatically, in fact.

Currently, the entire colony was worshiping the newborn rat child.

If someone had seen the scene, they would really start questioning their sanity and would also start joining the rats in their acts of worship.

As, unbeknownst to anyone, the newborn was currently dissipating the massive amount of divine energy within it, slowly, very slowly, very, very, very slowly.

But even then, just due to sheer amount of divine energy the rat had in it, the density was so high that no being would be able to not be filled with religious intent, when the said beings looks at the newborn, unless that being was a literal deity, or could be one.

...

It had been about 1 hour after the birth, it was then, the newborn deity, or soon to be one, was starting to wake up.
