WHEN I woke up, I immediately prepared myself to visit Abuelo for the terms and conditions of being the CEO of the Cross Enterprise. I wore a simple white t-shirt paired with my coat and my black fitted jeans.
Honestly, I am not into business, I want action like I am doing in the mlitary. I want muddy puddles, grasslands and dirt all over me rather than the cold temperature of an office and the scent of the newly photocopied files.
But since I was a child, Abuelo is always taking me with him in the Cross Enterprise to train under him, because after all, I am still one of his candidates for the Main Cross Enterprise management.
My Abuelo let me join military because he wants me to be happy before he take his business over me. But I never thought that I will be the one who'll inherit the biggest company franchise of my family.
"Welcome home, Master." The maids of my Abuelo's manor greeted me.
I simply nod at them and started to look for him.
"Big brother Clovis!" The twins Apollo and Artemis shouted. They are my cousin's with my Aunt Luchia who is so obsessed with myths especially Greek mythology. That's why she named my cousin's with the Greek god of the sun and music and the Greek goddess of the moon and hunt.
"What's up?" I asked them when they finally reached me.
They are both youngsters, 17 years to be exact. They are three years younger than their eldest brother Cedric who is lucky because Aunt Luchia didn't have the chance to name him with a Greek god's name.
"We're okay big brother Clovis, how about you?" Artemis anwered. I can say that she is a beauty. She can truly be compared to the Goddess of the Moon Artemis.
"I am okay, luckily." I can taste bitterness in my answer so I forced a smile and faced the twins. I want to avoid questions so I need to show them that I am okay because I know that they already know what happened between me and Yvonne last night because the video went viral.
"What do you mean?" Apollo asked. If his twin sister is like a goddess, he can be also compared into a Greek god. Muscles are starting to form on his body. And his coal black hair and golden eyes makes a good texture while he is still in the transition period of adolescense.
"Never mind. Where's Abuelo?" I changed the topic because I am starting to feel uneasiness with the topic.
I may not that madly in love with Yvonne, she was my girlfriend and my feelings for her before is still giving me all the rights to be affected because of her infidelity.
"He's upstairs, waiting for you." Artemis answered with hand gestures.
"Thank you, let's talk later." I said before I turn my back to them and start to walk toward the staircase that will lead me to my Abuelo.
"We're counting on it, big brother!" They shouted in chorus. But I can still feel that underneath their cheerful and excited voice, dismay and concern is still in there, hiding behind those smiles of them.
I shrugged my shoulders and wave my hand to them to say goodbye.
I don't want people sticking their nose onto my businesses. I don't want to give my Abuelo stress that can affect his health. I treasure my family but I treasure my Abuelo the most.
I knock on my Abuelo's room's door and it was immediately opened by a maid. She bowed down to me and give way for me. And when I entered the room, I froze when I saw my Abuelo. Tubes and different apparatus are all over him, He is also thin that wants me to run out and escape from the reality that my Abuelo is getting near.
His sickness is a mystery for us, his doctors and my father is the only one who knows what is his true sickness is. As far as I remember, Abuelo lived healthy but that day came, that he lost consciousnes infront of us while sitting over that big old tree in the garden of this manor.
I closed my eyes before I walk toward him and sit beside him. I hold his frail hand and gently kissed the back of it. He turned to me and smiled weakly, I smied at him and hold his hand tight. 'I don't want to let you go, Abuelo.'
"Abuelo, it is me, Clovis. I am back now. How are you?" I asked him, forcing myself not to cry.
"My dearest grandson Clovis. How's my gorgeous look alike?" He asked that is followed by his faint laugh.
My Abuelo told me that I am his carbon copy, I agree that I really look like him because of his black and white old pictures in their photo albums. I am surely proud of it that I am an exemption. I have seven cousins who are now starting to make their dreams come true, with my uncle and aunties who are treating us equally, no hate at all even though they knew that Abuelo is giving me special treatments I can't say no because I don't want him to be sad by being rejected.
"I am okay Abuelo. How about you?" I smiled at him.
"Don't worry too much, I'm fine. I am still not on the Reaper's list, And if I ddo, I will resist to be taken by him until I finally carry my great grandson to you." He laugh that made me feel awkward.
"Abuelo." This is awkward.
"What? Aren't you planning to have a baby soon?" He asked.
I swallowed the lump in my throat before I started to speak. "I don't have a girfriend, and I don't want to play with flings." I honestly said.
I don't know why but it is weird that he smiled after I tell him the news about me being a single man. "Well then, do what I say, my dearest grandson." He said with his serious tone.
"W-what do you want me to do?" I can't hide my nervousness anymore.
"To own Cross Enterprise... Marry the woman I like for you."
