Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Normally a person would have to study a circulation method before being able to cultivate and even a genius would have to try for an entire month before drawing the surrounding qi in their qi channels and circulating this energy and guiding it towards their dantian and entering the early foundation stage. His discovery made him both happy and surprised. He had also accepted his circumstances and remembered some advice from his master. His Master had told him about his circumstances and how he became a famous assassin. Invisible Leaf had an average profound spirit which was a weak wind elemental in the form of a gust, his profound spirit wasn't strong and didn't give its master strong attacking or defensive powers but an increase in speed and the ability to affect the wind while in the manifestation stage and its abilities only increased sharply in the saint stage. However, these abilities would still make him an easy target against equal or even opponents who are inferior in cultivation while in the same stage. These circumstances made his future look bleak, but through hard work, practice, and some ingenuity had he created his own three signature techniques which made him the greatest assassin on the Xuan continent in this day and age.

This advice gave Jiang Mang hope and confidence that he could use his profound spirits to carve his path in cultivation and become a strong figure on the continent. He could also not forget that his profound spirits had to have some extraordinary features to be a rival towards the little princess of Chu's twin spirits.

He went back to his room and started planning his future. He would first and foremost have to learn how to play the flute and the zither, he would also have to keep training as a hidden weapon master and master the other two techniques hidden moon traversal and shooting leaf technique, besides these two points he would have to integrate the unique points from his profound spirits in his combat style and maybe even create some personal techniques. As of last he needs to learn how to integrate his unique ability to view his surroundings when he plays music in his combat ability. The last aspect should have become possible because of his flute and zither profound spirit which have increased his talent in music after awakening. An example would have to be his previous music session because his ability to play music has improved by leaps and bounds in comparison to before his awakening.

After he had a clear view of his future cultivation path, he went back to sleep and only woke up when the servants opened the door to his room. They informed him that his father wanted to talk to him in his study so he got dressed and was escorted to the study. He entered and he heard his mother and father discussing his future attendance at a cultivation academy. They stopped when they noticed him and calmed down. Jiang Huang spoke to him first: "Mang'er how are you feeling after the awakening ceremony and I heard you had a spar with Duke Ming's son in which you won." Although the king seemed to have the same attitude towards his son as before the awakening ceremony, Jiang Mang could sense a certain distance between them which wasn't there before but he still smiled and answered: "Royal father thank you for your concern. I have accepted my circumstances after a good night's sleep and only hope to make the best out of them. About the spar, I don't have much to say, I was disappointed at myself at the time and exploded at his provocation and winning can't even be called an achievement after all my years of training with my master."

Jiang Huang was listening and glad that his son was the intelligent type. He asked another important question about his preferred choice for a cultivation academy. Jiang Mang responded in the following way: " Royal father, I would like to attend the Imperial Academy because a music instrument as a profound spirit is a rather rare type of a profound spirit and only the Imperial Academy would be able to draw all the potential out of my twin spirits. I know that my profound spirits are not suited for combat but they are still twin spirits and should have their unique applications that could be useful for the kingdom. The regular ability of an ordinary musical instrument profound spirit alone is already useful for calming dawn masses or halting the heated discussions of ministers and scholars and making them calm down again while giving them a clear mind to make good choices. I would also be able to study under the greatest music cultivators of the continent as they are gathered in the Imperial Academy as teachers."

Jiang Mang had deliberately hidden his ambitions of becoming an accomplished martial artist because his family would never agree because of his circumstances and also because they could think he was after the position of heir to the throne while he didn't lust after any sort of political power.

Jiang Huang had listened to his son's reasoning and silently agreed, but he tested his son through a series of questions to determine if these were his son's true thoughts and they were answered perfectly without flaws which wiped his doubts off the table and he said: " I will support your decision to go to the Imperial Academy and two of my guards who are at the peak manifestation stage will become your personnel guards who will accompany you anywhere to help protect you while also guiding you in your day to day life. I do this because of your blindness but also to help your mother be at ease while you are far away in the Chu empire."

Jiang Mang smiled at his father's words and accepted his decision. His father then ended the topic by going over the practical preparation for going to the Imperial Academy. All the academies would be accepting new students in two months and journeying towards the Imperial Academy would take a month by horse and cart. The Imperial academy also allowed its students to only bring two servants with them to the academy which was his father's reason to assign two high-level guards to him. Their conversation ended when a royal tutor was decided to teach Jiang Mang the basics about playing the flute and zither and his father also handed him a high-level circulation method for music instrumental type profound spirits to start practicing cultivation.
