Everyone that knows me even a little bit knows that my social skills are nearly nonexistent, especially around strangers.
I am socially awkward and I know it well. And I'm not trying to ever change that, because I'm comfortable that way. But at the same time I hate to hurt people's feelings just because I don't how to talk to new human beings.
"I don't think I know you, umm...Victoria you said, right?" I tell her, with a suspicious look. I don't shake her hand so she stops waiting for me to do so.
Another person may not feel weird about this situation but I do find it suspicious and weird. We're not living in movies and TV shows, people don't just smile at you in public and want to have a random conversation with a stranger for no reason.
As I said, maybe other people do that and I'm sure they do, but I don't.
