"I don't want to see his face ever again." that's what she thought "I hate him more than anything!" she said to herself. She stood outside their tent walking back and forth feeling her cold hands against her sword.
"Ahhh. Intruder!" The moment they heard someone scream from afar, they knew that he was back; their enemy had crossed the lines.
"But why this fast?" She thought.
"Find that intruder!" Jayson went outside their tent and gathered his teammates.
"He's way smarter to choose this move." She whispered and armed herself and followed their leader.
Kath kept her tears and frustrations to herself. She didn't join the rampage even when Jayson gave the signal. She's decided. She stood outside, armed with her weapon, and waiting for what things could happen. She only wanted to see things through.
Now that she heard what the wolf said, she was having second thoughts.
...
The group all moved away from the wolf's area and went to their respective places in the camp.
"You think he's telling the truth?" Alex asked Jayson who was sitting on the floor beside him.
They don't know what to think, or what to say. They are at a loss.
The dark clouds of the night cover the whole city and it's starting to drizzle. Everyone in the camp prepared for the heavy rain by getting their things inside their own tents. But the two chose to stand in the garden on the patio of a café, trying to get a breather.
"I can't tell, Alex," Jayson replied to Alex who was sitting on the railing above his head, sighing. He looked up at the sky, trying to see answers. "His eyes seemed so convincing." He picked a stone and threw it in a pot. "And his words, they seemed to have no lies on it."
"He's a program!" Alex exclaimed. "I doubt if he had feelings or such!!" he formed fists. "I know it's all lies." His expression turned cold.
"I know... but when you think of it. His information is so relevant and substantial. You can—"
"Connect the dots? Don't go kidding on me, Jay..." Alex lowered his head and placed it between his palms. "All this time my anger was directed towards that hacker whose name was Markus Lockwood. I resented him, cursed him with all my heart."
"Alex..."
"I wanted to kill the guy..." Alex continued. "I wanted to rip him in shreds to erase this anger in me. It was for my Mom. Now that I've found him, I'll just learn the so-called truth?! What the hell was that!!" he started to cry out of anger. He kicked the table he saw near him and it stumbled on the lamppost across them. "The hell was that, Jay.."
"I know what you're feeling. We all have our piece of anger towards the guy but if that wolf is telling the whole truth, there's a big scheme cooking under our noses."
"Mom..." Alex's voice started to soften. "Mom died during that day. I was happy to celebrate my birthday with her around. She rarely comes home that is why..." he continued in a low voice.
"We'll have a chat with the others first."
...
"Kath, where have you been? I've been searching for you after the chaos." Drake said. "I couldn't think of places where to find you. I'm just glad I've happened to find you here." He smiled.
Kath didn't reply. She sat silently on the floor near the exit of the cellphone shop.
"We should get back to the camp. The rain's gonna pour in any minute. If you don't want to talk about it, I won't force you..." Drake said, offering her a hand. "But if you want to stay here..." He sat next to her. "I'll just sit here to have your company."
"I can't believe everything that was said, Drake." She whispered. She covered her head between her arms resting it on her knees. Her breathing is forced, she is trying not to let out her emotions.
"I know..." Drake stared at her. Wondering what can he do to his friend.
"Shichiro...that wolf is trying to say that my parents died for nothing..." Kath sobbed. "How can he be so heartless?"
Drake brought her head to his chest.
"My parents are just having their nice time out and..." Kath continued.
The rain poured along with her tears.
"...all of those things happened in an instant. We knew who to blame but now..." Kath said. "But now...it turns out to be a lie. How could this happen, huh? How could they lie to us...I don't know who to trust anymore..."
"Kath..."
"To whom will I direct my anger now? Who will I blame, huh?! I can't—"
"Shhh... it will end soon...just have faith."
Yuri stood from afar, listening to their conversation. He knew everyone felt the same.
Lost.
Most of the participants in the convention are relatives of the victims of the flight Loki. They harbored hatred and sought the destruction of the hacker. Now that they know the truth, something kept them hanging. Questions filled their minds, and more questions were boiling. He can't grasp the situation as everyone's in pieces.
He walked away from them and wondered in his mind.
"Yuri.." Tori said. She stood outside Yuri's tent, waiting.
"Oh, Tori...why are you here? Why didn't you go to sleep?" Yuri didn't notice his feet brought him back to their tent.
"I could say that to you, too. You should get some sleep." Tori said.
"After all the stuff that happened? I bet I can't even close my eyes...." Yuri replied.
"I know..." Tori said. "I kinda felt the same. Anyway,.."
"Is there something wrong?"
"Jayson and the others need to talk to everyone..." Tori replied. "He's inside the tent."
....
"Hang in there Ha-chan!!" Shichiro said with a worried face.
"You changed instantly, huh?" Michiyo said. "You were quite the badass wolf a while ago and now you're back to the worry-wart wolf..." she smirked.
"It's because.." the wolf complained.
"Hai.. hai..." Michiyo replied. "Anyway. What can we do with him? I mean, Is he even still alive?"
"Don't worry. I won't let him die." Shichiro replied.
"Ne, is that all the secret he's kept from us?" Sandra said.
"Everyone has their own smoke to keep. I guess you should ask him about the rest. I bet he'll get mad at me very much when he wakes up..."
"He planned not to tell us, huh?" Ken muttered. He reached for the wet towel and placed it on Hachiro's forehead. They brought him inside a souvenir boutique near their area.
"The wound is deep. I don't think I can alter his brain any further to heal that wound. He'll be in much more danger if I'll do that." The wolf whispered.
"What have you been doing?" Sandra asked.
"I can't explain it. I don't have the right to do so."
"But.."
"Oi... his life meter is going down fast..." Brent noticed.
They felt a slight panic.
"What? Ne, what should we do?" Michiyo exclaimed.
"The wound is not patched yet..." Shichiro replied.
"Can't you do it faster?" Dave said.
"I don't really know how to do this..." Brent muttered, trying to stop the bleeding.
"Ne, Ha-chan.. hang in there!"
"What should we do?" Ken asked.
"I dunno... Ne, what should we do?!!" Brent replied.
"His life's gone to red now..." Sandra exclaimed. "What should we do??"
Michiyo stared at Hachiro's pale face. She tried to think of anything that they could do to help the guy. Then she realized,
"I got it!!" she exclaimed.
"You got what?" Dave asked surprisingly. "Say it now!" he urged.
"This one!" Michiyo showed a small bottle with a blue liquid inside.
"What's that?" Sandra asked, still compressing the wound.
"When we encountered the hack a while back, I muttered something and he gave me this for a reward.." Michiyo explained. "I guess it's a healing potion.."
"A healing potion? That's great!" Brent exclaimed.
"But it's from the hacker!!" Dave cried out. "It could be a virus and will kill the user instead."
"I don't think so..." Michiyo replied. "I scanned this item a while back and I found no trace of virus in it. I guess it's really a healing potion."
"But that's still dangerous..." Dave exclaimed again. "It's from that damn hacker!! We can't trust it."
"But we don't have any other choice. We can't let him die here.." Michiyo said.
"Shichiro.." Sandra said.
"Hai?"
"Can you scan this?"
"Let me see..." Shichiro stared at the potion and scanned it in his database. A few seconds later, he said, "We can have this for now.. it's safe.."
"See?" Michiyo said.
They all looked worried as Sandra gave the potion to their friend.
"Take it all Marky....and feel better..." Sandra muttered.
And the effect of the potion was seen on his life meter.
"It's getting back to the green zone.." Ken said.
"Thank goodness..." Brent sighed.
"This will keep his life meter at bay for a while.." Shichiro exclaimed. "We still need to take care of the wound..."
"And I guess that's where I can help.." A man with a bonnet stood at the tent entrance dressed in a silhouette.
They all look st his direction immediately raising their guards.
"Who are you?" they all exclaimed as they armed themselves.
"Anormal guy who wants a normal life but was dragged into something dangerous because of that guy...." he pointed at Hachiro.
They all stared sternly at the guy and he immediately raised his hands showing no intention of harm.
"Easy, guys!" the guy said. "I'm here to help."
