Synopsis
For 17 year old Twisted, a regular day at school consists of ; being bullied by June Perry and her band of Barbie's, singing the same gig with her Best and Only friend, Derek, and playing hide and go seek with her abusive father. So yeah her life's pretty boring, minus the fact that she's the "Town Witch.". When a new boy suddenly moves to town, he sees Twisted for who she REALLY is, making her emotions toward him that much stronger but, the problem is, she's in love with Derek, or at least she thinks she is. TWISTED is a teens journey of finding romance, and self love but, of course, no good story goes without a TWIST.

Chapter 1 - Trouble In Paradise

Oh how I hate the stench of hairspray and male testosterone in the AM. Its the first day of senior year and Ill put money down that the schools hottest couples have already, broken up and gotten back together twice over. So much going on and yet I'm still special enough for them to give their daily "You're a freak." glares. "Hey T wait up!" I turn to see my best and only friend, Derek Ballard, jogging down the hall toward me, Letterman glued to his back, as usual. I stop walking and allow him to reach me, giving him a smirk, " Its senior year captain, don't you think its time for you to stick to your elected social group?" He throws me puppy eyes while he says, "All the cheerleaders in the world couldn't tempt me to abandon you, my dear Twisted."

Twisted, a very original yet awful name my father was kind enough to bestow on me. I press my index finger to Derek's forehead " You and I both know, when the panties start dropping, so does this friendship. Until the school year inevitably ends and you'll be forced to hang out with me out of your dads pity." he touches his heart, "Ouch. Low blow girl, you've got to let that go."

"Maybe on day." I remove my finger and start toward first period, him trailing right beside me. "Come on, I did that one time freshman year because, I was a horny little virgin. I haven't left your side since." I let out a giggle, "I know." he smiles, "Then why..." I place my finger on his lips, shushing him. "You agreed when we became friends again, i could use that against you at will, considering I'm not so great at come-backs." He grabs my finger and pecks it, sending fireworks through my mind. "Worth it I suppose." I never have to worry about seeing Derek's thoughts when I touch him, he always tells me what he thinks, he seriously lacks a filter. I tell him everything in return, well except the fact that I can see and know everything about a person from a single touch, oh yeah, and that I'm head over heels in love with him.

This may sound dumb but, in all of his efforts to get into other girls skirts, I couldn't help but, be insecure about the fact that he never tried to get into mine. Who am I kidding though? No one in their right would look at me like that. That's why he and I are friends, he never complicates things so, I cant either. With every girl and every fling it gets harder, when he talks about all the lips he's kissed, I just wish one day they'd be mine and that they'll be all he needs but, no. This isn't a Nicholas Sparks movie, I don't get an awesome soundtrack and the loser never gets the guy. "Hey T you okay?" Ringgg, saved by the bell, I nod my head and say, "See ya in English." He smiles and walks off but, I could see suspicion lingering in his eyes. I question how long I can keep this up. As he disappears around the corner, I let out a sigh and walk into math class. Mr. Crushen turns to look at me, he's wrinkled eyes glaring.

'You're late Miss Winstover." I walk to my desk and take a seat as the final bell rings. I smirk, "Hmm seems I'm just on time." A few kids laugh while i hear others whisper, "Freak." I shove my headphones into my ears and Gerard Way sings to me, a sweet song about my life. I don't need to hear, to know what going on, a touch of a book and ill ace anything thrown my way, so what's the point. I know everything I want to know and everything that I don't. Rumors circulate the school about me having powers, though none have been right. The most popular rumor is that if you make me angry, it only takes one look from my icy witch eyes and you're dead the next day. I have to say, I like that one, it keeps people away. In the midst of my own thoughts, i almost miss the new kid walking through the door. I almost miss, his fully tattooed arms, i almost miss his green eyes staring directly toward me, so intense that its as if he was trying to burn holes into my head. I give him a dirty look then direct my eyes toward my chipped finger nails, that i always say I'm going to repaint but, never get around to.

When I look back up, new kids standing at the desk beside mine. He better not sit here. On cue he grabs the back of the chair and slides it out all while maintaining eye contact. I slide myself to the edge of the table. He take his seat and smirks at me, he starts saying something that i have no interest in hearing, i brush my hair behind my ear to reveal my headphones. He continues on , never acknowledging my headphones that are on full blast. I can feel my annoyance rise knowing full well white earbuds next to my raven hair cant be that hard to see. After another minute of hearing him blab about his grandma, I rip my headphones out and whisper, "Dude, are you blind?" He looks at me questioningly and I lift my headphones in gesture. "I didn't hear a word you said (technically) and here's a tip, don't try to be my friend, I'm not interested, especially after you stared me down like that."

He chuckles, and says "Sorry you look familiar." I huff and say, "Something tells me that you're full of shit." He smiles and says "You're not being very nice to the new kid." I glare, " I'm the anti-nice." He maintains eye contact and i cant help but, feel uncomfortable, the only person who does that is Derek. Usually my eyes are enough to scare anyone off. "Are you wearing contacts?" he asks, " I break contact and firmly say, "No." When I glance at him he's smiling and says, "Sweet." I look at him, eyebrow raised, "Glad you think so." He chuckles, "Why do you look surprised?" I sigh, "You're new here so you don't know yet but, I'm the town witch. One look from these babies and you're..." I gesture sliding my finger across my throat. He smirks and says "I don't embrace rumors but, hey, if it helps you block people out, that's cool. Just know. I'm not easy to get rid of, I'm very persistent. " I nod my head, "Like i said, not interested."

He begins to lean close and fear runs through me, not of him but, myself. He stops allowing enough space for our skin not touch. "Ill grow on you, you'll change your mind about me." I glance toward the front of class and all the girls are fuming, jealous that the new kid is close enough to kiss. I turn back to him and whisper, " Doubt it, can i have my bubble back now?" He backs off and i let out a quiet sigh. He sticks his hand out and says, " Cole." I stare at his hand, in fear of what it might reveal, i switch my gaze back to him and say, "Twisted." He looks at his hand in confusion and takes it back. "Its just a hand shake." I sigh, "No. My name is Twisted." he laughs, "Wow that's different." i shrug "My dad chose it." he smirks, "Why?" I shove my headphones back in my ears and say, "You'll never know." I spent the rest of the period wondering if this guy was a nut-job. when the bell rang i couldn't be happier, that is until June Perry, head cheerleader and my ex-best friend approached my desk. " Hey Twisted, I'm having a pool party this weekend, you should totally come." Before i could think better i said, "Really?" She laughed and smacked my books off my desk saying, "You really are a freak to think i would let you step a foot into my house." I smile and see fear creep into her eyes as i say, "You're going to regret that."
