One day before...
The sound of the phone ringing woke me up. I reached for it on the side table with my eyes still closed. I was still sleepy because of my showcase earlier. I answered the call without looking at the caller ID hoping that it was really important.
"What's up?" He spoke with his usual baritone voice.
"Speak up! you're disturbing me." I said irritated by his call.
"I have good news. I've hired the boogie man to kill Dahlia." My eyes widened. I sat on my bed as I put my palm on the forehead.
"What? are you insane?" I said in full disagreement.
"I thought we're on the same page, Julie?" He said that gives me pure goosebumps.
"You're creepin' me out Reyn. You're kidding right?"
"I'm hell serious Julie." he said in his full serious tone.
"Stop it or else I'm gonna tell her." I said panicking and creeped out about my friend's insane thoughts.
" Wait there little girl. If you don't want to help me with this better get out of my way!" He spoke as if he's out of vanity. I ended the call as he spoked his last statement.
My footsteps were heavy. My checkered button-down long sleeves were full of Julie's blood. With a knife in my hand, I opened the door of Reyn and Ethan's bedroom. And I was right he was there, sitting on the sofa. He wasn't even startled of the door's creeky noise.
So he was expecting me?
He was wearing a black hoodie that covered his whole body. I threw the knife to his direction and I hit his neck. But my brows furrowed when he didn't even flinch on what I did. I gasped as I hear the door shut.
Shit!
"Looking for me, Dahlia?" A cold baritone whispered in my ear. The cold knife was poking my neck. His grip on my shoulders was tight hurting me with his strength.
"Reveal yourself damn!" I said not giving him a hint of my fear.
"Too excited to meet me eh? Let's have chitchat first shall we?" The knife dugs my skin. Blood surely sprouts from my neck. He made me sit on the couch facing the mannequin. He shifted to my front. Shock and confusion filled me. Slowly I understood his hate for me.
"Howel." I said his filthy name with gritted teeth.
"You're a smart kid, but emotions control the heck of you." He said while sitting on the couch in front of me. Playing with the mannequin beside him. "Well lucky for you I've already eliminated the traitors around you."
"What do you mean?" My brows furrowed instantly. I was curious about the filth he was talking about.
"You know what I'm talking about after all your intuitions are never wrong."
"I saw how you killed Reyn, he isn't the mastermind of this shit!"
Although all evidence points to Reyn I never accused him. From the pair of muddy boots, he loved to wear. The cold stare of Julie to him. He even knows every inch of this mansion yet he doesn't take us to possible exits and also why the heck would he call at 7 in the evening just to play a stupid game. I ignored all those facts for he is my dear friend. Howel is just messing with me.
"He is! I just revised some of his plans and instead of killing only you, I killed them too." He said coldly while playing with the knife he was holding.
"You fool! Why are you doing this!" I clenched my fist trying to control my anger and to prevent myself to create a petty move.
"For revenge. I've always dreamed of perfect revenge and it would be like to kill you emotionally, mentally, and... physically."
