To my regret, it seemed that leaving wouldn't be an option. Ruburu was in danger, and Wispvine knew it too. I hadn't seen the summon this upset before, nor had I been paying attention enough to see it reappear. But I did notice how already the black flowers were spreading their filth across the land. 'Flipkit transformed the Ingarans into what lies before you.'
'I thought as much. I hear the Ingarans' wicked screams in my head. My bark faces disease, and my leaves threaten to dry and crumble. It is excruciating. Stay back!' Wispvine yelled as the black foliage issued a challenge by nibbling its roots. 'What are they?! What have they become?'
Another charge by the deathly flora saw Wispvine shoot leaves out of its head and stagger back again. 'Flipkit,' it spat. 'That monstrous bastard was always looking for ways to hurt me, and now it might have succeeded.'
'Can't you leave Ruburu and not return?'
