I hadn't noticed how shiny red jasper was until now. On one of the rock's smooth faces, I could see the reflection of pointed incisors as they prepared to chomp down. The second I warned the others though, the Otter leapt out of the vent, landing on Reid's shoulder. It bit her neck once, before swiftly concealing its teeth. Then just like that, the creature became a cute bundle of fur again.
'You piece of-' Reid snapped, dabbing at the punctured skin with her finger. The Otter scrambled to hide behind my legs. 'You don't get to play the innocent card after this stunt.'
The Otter just squeaked, eying up the Crayfish tank some more while Reid wasn't paying attention.
Rolling the balls of my eyes, I looked down. 'Now.'
The Zookeeper's jaw was hanging wide open. 'What did you just do?'
There was no point in lying to her now. 'Teleportation magic,' Asher explained. 'It can take me wherever I want to go.'
