'What did I miss?'
'Cali,' I reply. 'You've got remarkable timing as always.'
'Ha, ha,' her eyes shot open as she shouldered her way past me. 'Did you see that?!'
What I'd seen, I'd assumed, had been my imagination or a bit of dirt in my eye. But as Cali singled out the creature, I couldn't help but notice how its human-sized legs shuffled impossibly fast over the flat tarmac and especially how its four muscle-ripped arms waved from side to side as if searching for something to grab.
'Get that thing a basketball,' Cali shouted. 'Who covers two hundred and fifty yards in under three seconds?'
