I could tell when Rac had reached the bridge because the airship began to pick up speed again. Then, I watched in shock as the katana Asher had dropped slowly slid across the deck into one of the anomalies and was gradually wiped from existence.
'How the hell did it know we'd be in here? Rac, did you copy?'
'It's not just targeting you; it's attacking every compartment-' The communication link-up went silent.
'Rac?'
He gasped, breaking the disheartening quiet, and his agony was apparent even from one deck below. 'It just assaulted the bridge. And its damn blade missed my chair by an inch!'
'I still don't see any resulting explosions; what do you think will happen to the ship if Dio strikes the engines?'
'We'll likely fall like a rock, Jake. And, frankly, I'm curious why it hasn't done it already.'
