Hilgarda shook her head before using mine as a stepping stone to drag herself out of the hatch above. 'It doesn't matter; it's not like the Uebra will fit into shorts anyway. So you won't be alone.'
I didn't have to climb as she had, but I did end up running after the spritely Uvaaaru. Then as she jumped off the ship to land on a drone, I glided after her. And my bracelet started ringing again. 'You'd better keep up, Jake.'
'Count on it. Wait, why are you going higher?'
'Because we're meeting in secret, and all it would take would be one zealot to ruin everything.'
'I can't argue with that.' I kept the call connected but let my arms rest for once as my wings soared. It hadn't dawned on me just how great it felt to be home; to be flying through the skies without being hunted was exhilarating.
