Gilacrong waited, its attention focused on the one open portal, so it didn't see me coming when I teleported behind it. It was yet another unremarkable room, though, except for the twelve unfurnished cells it held, with six of them running down either side. But when the Goblin heard the other portal close, it shrieked furiously.
'You can't have come in any other way! You can't have! It's not fair!'
Auraculum never said anything about this guy being a spoiled brat. I guess when you've gotten your way for so long, you aren't used to rotten surprises.
This particular surprise had worked for the most part, but now Gilacrong waved its Goblin claws over the blank canvas while enchanting something too quiet for us to hear. Then the paper stretched into a blanket that it started spinning around above its head.
'Do not let that thing touch you!'
'But, our barriers-'
'Might not work, Asher; we have no way of knowing.'
