Kenzie Hope
The Alpha Manor was split up into several sections on what was probably at least five acres. In the center was the Alpha house, where the Alpha, Beta, Gamma and their families lived. It was a basically a castle with five stories and took up at least an acre by itself. Next to the castle, there was a smaller mansion. It was also a castle, but it was much smaller, and it housed the top three warriors and their families. In the group of houses also laid a large guest house that could house anyone who needed to visit the pack. Usually the visitors consisted of an Alpha, Beta, and Gamma with three warriors, at most, or a family or two. In between the smaller mansion and the Alpha house, there was the pack house. It was the second largest building and housed all of the unmated wolves over 18 and newly mated wolves, who
A little ways away from the three buildings rested a huge training ground in which all the warriors spent hours on.
On the opposite side of the training group was a huge ballroom. It was the second largest building in the entire pack because it was meant to fit the entire pack, excluding the omegas. I, being an omega had never been in it before so when I was it, my jaw dropped. I hadn't even seen the main ballroom and I was already flabbergasted.
When we arrived, Anna ushered us into the back door of the ballroom, claiming that no one was allowed to see us yet. The back door let us into a wide, spacious hallway that had a least ten doors on each side and a large double door at the end. On the wall of the hallway, there were gorgeous paintings and artwork, all of which had to be very old, but not a speck of dust laid on any of them. I didn't get long to admire the pieces of work, before Anna pushed Lily and I into a room on the left side of the hallway.
The room was decently large, probably the size of my whole apartment. It was an elegant dressing room, with old fluffy couches and long sitting stools. There was a mirror connected to an old dresser that looked like it would creek with every movement. The items in the room were old, but it added to the elegance and beauty of it all. It was a waiting room fit for a princess.
There was other woman in the room who was wearing a dark purple dress. It was long like Lily's and was an off the shoulder short sleeve. The upper part was beaded and so was the bottom which sparked against the satin material. She had dark brown hair that was pulled into an elegant low bun with curled hairs framing her face. On top of her head was a crown, slightly smaller than Lily's.
"Girls, this is Faye, the soon to be Gamma Female. Faye, this is the soon to be Luna, Kenzie, and Beta Female, Lily," Anna introduced us.
After introductions, Lily, who was more comfortable with this whole thing, moved and sat upright on a bench with her legs crossed. She peaked out of the perfectly white curtains, which gave me a glance of outside. The sun was setting through the trees, making the sky erupt in shades of pink, red, and yellow. People were scattered outside wearing ties and heels. Lily shut the drapes before someone had a chance to look at us.
Anna made us stand up and do a few twirls, to make sure our dresses were princess perfect, before she rushed out of the room to check on something. Faye and Lily sat back down in silence, probably beginning to get nervous. I would have comforted them, but I was already was beyond my comfort zone. I sat across from Lily, keeping the silence, but still being as friendly as I could.
'Take a deep breath Kenz,' Lexus instructed me and I did as I was told.
'What if they don't like us? Can they banish us? No other pack would take us. We're lucky to still be here considering our lineage,' I ranted back to her, beginning to freak out even more. Lexus instructed me to take another calming breath.
'Mate wouldn't let that happen,' She smiled, 'Mate loves us.'
How do you know? I asked her. I never got an answer, just a smile in the back of my head. Anna rushed in with a smile on her face. God how does everyone smile all the time?
She picked Lily and I up by our elbows, but not hard enough to make it hurt. Faye was already standing and Anna twirled her around, spraying glitter in her hair. She twirled Lily around next and sprayed glitter spray in her hair, which was tied up in an elegant bun. Lily took a deep breath and Anna came over to me to repeat the action.
Once she had finished, she started to give us the run down for tonight. She first told us that we would walk down the stairs and try not to trip. At the end of the stairs, the Alpha, Beta and Gama would meet us. The Alpha and I would dance then the Beta and Lily would join us. The Gamma, who had known his Faye for a while, would join in. After the three dances anyone would be able to dance or not dance.
She walked us through the night in extreme detail, which seemed to give Lily peace of mind, but it didn't do anything for me. If anything, it only made my nerves shoot up. I didn't know how to dance or act all proper like a Luna should.
If I wasn't nervous enough, when Anna added that tonight I would be declared Luna, and the other girls their prospective titles, my nerves shot through the roof. Lily had told me that this was just the regular meet the parents. I should've known better when I had to wear a dress more expensive that my rent.
Great, we're screwed, I told my wolf with a groan. She just waggled her tail at the thought of our mate and being in such close proximity with him.
We walked out of the room and down the hall to the large double doors. They were dark wooden doors with gold designs covering the edges. It was definitely the nicest door I had ever seen. There were two guards positioned on each side of the door. They were wearing traditional guard uniforms with black button ups and black slacks. Because they were guarding a fancy event, they didn't have on a hat or a name tag, but they did have a black overcoat and tie.
Anna nodded at them and they nodded back. Then Anna, with a smile, swiftly exited into a room that was bustling with excitement. The guard on the left hand side looked at us with a monotone face but his eyes showed excitement.
"Ready, ladies?" He asked. Lily looked at me with wide eyes.
No, I replied in my head. I grabbed Lily's hand, which I think calmed her nerves. I could hear her rapid heartbeat begin to slow and that calmed me down a bit. I looked at her and nodded my head and she nodded back.
"Yes, thank you," I spoke for the both of us. Lily let go of my hand and linked our arms together in a way that was supportive but still graceful. Lily then did the same to Faye. The men opened the door and revealed the crowd to us. There were so many people. So many.
There were people of all ages, I even saw a few babies in the crowd. They were all wearing evening gowns and suites. They looked gorgeous, each one of them. They had werewolf blood therefore making them pretty humans.
The staircase was white marble, long, and wide. There were gold railings on either sides that formed the same swirly pattern as the door did. White marble covered the ballroom floor almost entirely, but dark wood covered the edges. There were white tables with matching cloths. What seemed like thousands of white chairs surrounded the round tables and in the center of each table had white roses. Each place on the table had a white notecard with gold writing, saying what I assumed were people's names.
At the end of the stairs, like promised, were the Alpha and Beta. Beta Morgan looked handsome to say the least. His brown hair was gelled back and complimented his black suite. He looked at Lily with absolute adoration in his chocolate eyes. Glancing at Lily, I saw she had the same look. With just one look, anyone could tell that they were in love.
Alpha Winters looked just as handsome, in fact he was much more handsome. His hair, like Beta Morgan's, was gelled back and it matched his tux. The tux was perfectly fitted to his body, it was tight enough to show his muscles, but not tight enough to look like it didn't fit.
I suppose I took too long checking him out because when I looked up at his face, his plump lips were quirked up into a perfect smirk. His eyes twinkled in delight as he watched me descend down the obnoxiously long staircase. It took a painfully slow amount of time to reach him.
Once I finally reached him, I started to panic. My heart fluttered rapidly as Alpha Winters took my left hand. He brought it up to his lips and kissed the back of my hand. My wolf purred in delight, loving every second of attention he gave us. I slipped out of Lily's arm as she slipped into Beta Morgan's and I into Alpha Winter's. He tucked me into his arm.
"McKenna Hope, would you care to dance with me?" He mumbled against my forehead.
"Yes, Alpha Winters," I whispered back, my breath hitched in my throat. He kissed my forehead in response which made my heart flutter. He led me to the center of the ballroom, where everyone was gathered to watch their Alpha and Luna.
While he grabbed my hand, I wrapped my other arm around his shoulder. He placed his hand on my waist as the light classical music started playing. It sent tingles through my spine, pulling me further into him.
I reached up on my tiptoes to whisper in his ear, "Is this a bad time to tell you I don't know how to dance?" I looked back up to his face to look at his reaction. His forest eyes twinkled in amusement as he mouthed 'just follow me'. Alpha Winters took a step and I followed.
We danced for a while in perfect harmony before Lily and Beta Morgan joined us. Soon after that Gamma Harrison and Faye joined in. The three of us couples danced with absolute grace as the pack looked at us with nothing but pride. There was an overwhelming feeling of joy in my heart as we moved to the sounds on the piano.
When the song had finished, the pack swarmed the dance floor. Alpha Winters carefully pulled me through the busy crowd until we got to a table that was larger than the others. On the side closest to the window were two place holder that read 'Alpha' and 'Luna'. Alpha Winters sat down in his spot and tugged my hand until I sat down next to him.
"Alpha Winters?" I asked him once we had gotten comfortable. He looked at me with his eyebrows furrowed.
"Kenzie, you're my Luna," He mumbled, raising my hand to his lips once again. "You don't have to call me Alpha anymore. We're equals." He looked directly into my eyes as he tried to get his point across. I was hesitant about this because all of my natural instincts wanted me to call him Alpha and until I was officially Luna, it would stay that way.
"Kaden," I started, trying the word on my tongue. His eyes shut when I spoke and his muscles tightened. Honestly, it was really hot.
"Say it again. Please," He whispered, his eyes still shut.
"Kaden," I said hesitantly. His snapped eyes opened and they were darker than the shade of his hair. Gage, his wolf, was out.
"Again." He reached for my chair and pulled until our chairs touched. My heels and the chair legs scraped on the ground as I moved. Our legs touched and sparks erupted from the spot.
"Kaden," I repeated with more confidence. The tension in the air was hot and heavy. I was worried other people were watching this moment, but the thoughts quickly left my mind as he picked my up off my chair. He placed me on his lap and pulled me into his chest. Putting his nose in the crook of my neck, where he would eventually mark me, he sniffed my scent. I relaxed into his touch.
"I'm going to have to give a speech soon," He whispered against my skin. I let out an involuntary whimper at the thought of not being so close to him. "I won't leave, Mate."
Let me out, Lexus demanded. I was too overwhelmed, with his scent and his intoxicating words, to stop her. I got pushed to the pack of my mind and began to watch as she took control of our body.
She instantly put our nose in the crook of his nose and inhaled his scent. "Mate," She purred. Kaden's chest vibrated as she did so. She looked up at him, seeing his perfect green eyes. Gage was gone, which slightly disappointed Lexus, but she was still ecstatic.
"Hello," Kaden mumbled softly, probably wondering about our purple eyes.
"Hi," Lexus purred and I face palmed myself in my mind.
"What's your name, beautiful?"
"Lexus."
"Lexus," He tried her name on his tongue. She obviously loved it because she purred rather loudly, making Kaden chuckle again. "Lexus would you mind letting me talk to Kenzie?" She didn't reply back, she just hugged him tight and retreated into our mind.
I, in full control, looked back up at Kaden's smiling eyes. He was a beautiful human. After a few moments of cuddling in the chair, we stood up for Kaden to make his speech. He got to the stage, in no time at all, with me following in suite.
This is it, I told my wolf.
