Guess what? Today is my lucky day. I feel so free right now and happy actually. I have a feeling that today is going to be a good day. Jake had left early this morning. He had some important work to take of. I finished drinking my coffee and made my way out of the house. As I went into the office, I happily greeted the hottie and sat down. "Good morning." I said
He looked up at me and smiled. "Good morning." we were both quiet for a while. "So, I'm sure you don't have any more difficulties in the driving?"
"Nope. I'm fine really. I'll get the hang of it."
" I'm Kurtis by the way. I'm the instructor's son."
Ding dong ding ....
Holy shit!... He's been in front of me all along. Damn.
"Er...nice name. So why are you working for your father? Is he paying you to do it?"
"Not at all. I just want to help him out that's all."
"That's nice of you."
"But he should pay you though because you could be doing other things to earn money instead of sitting behind that desk there and filling paperwork."
"You are right though but I don't need to be collecting money from him, that's too weird."
"How is collecting money from your father so weird?"
"It is don't you think so?"
"Not at all. I collect money from my brother all the time, of course when I need it and it's not weird at all."
"Alright but that's what I think that's all because he has been taking care of me for so long so I'm just helping him out as payback."
"It's understandable. I was just giving my opinion."
"No worries. But you are something." He said staring at me with so much intensity."
"Really? And what am I?"
"Special."
"Uh huh... interesting but I kind of know how special I am."
"But has someone actually told you that?"
"Not really."
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"No."...
I said it so bluntly that I thought I didn't hear myself. Why didn't I tell him I have a boyfriend? I don't know and I think it's better this way.
"Are you sure ? Because you are such a beauty and no guy can resist."
" I'm sure. I don't need a boyfriend really. I'm better off alone." Such a liar...
"I see...I'm single too."
"And why?"
He chuckled. "Well, I've dated in my past before, trying to find the right girl and all but I never really loved them and I was so popular back then and I loved that fame I tell ya. But after getting it all, I just got fed up and changed. And I'm happy with what I've become. I'm just glad my friends didn't forsake me and I'm grateful for them.
"You've been through a lot I guess."
"You can say that."
We talked for hours non stop till I finally had to go for my driving lessons.
"It was nice talking to you." He said
"Like wise."
"Can I have your number though?"
"sure." We exchanged numbers and I left.
