Two weeks later:
Keith paced the floors of the ship, his breathing hard and his face coated with sweat. Everyone held their breath in anticipation as they waited for him to announce the information he's just received.
Victoria stood beside him with her arms crossed as she did her best to hide a frown. She didn't see the point of him hiding things from them, from her… Not that it mattered.
But what's the point of keeping someone on their toes if you have the intention of not giving them something to look forward to? This is exactly what's happening here. He should've her what was happening from the very beginning?
Why did he allow it to escalate this far?
'Stop it Victoria, your mind is way out of context here.'
Yep, it definitely was. Releasing an annoyed sigh, she plastered the most deceiving smile that she's ever pulled off.
She deserved an Oscar for that. Anyone who thought different was clearly out of their minds.
