Chapter 8 - More Trials...

Chapter 8 :

" Your honor, my client is innocent of all the allegations against her", Victoria stated as her client, Lisa sat there in the courtroom watching her with awe.

Lisa was currently in the courtroom because she was being accused of murdering her ex-girlfriend. After all, she committed adultery.

The police came to her apartment in the middle of the night, knocked down her door, and took her out of the apartment with nothing but a short, white towel wrapped around her body and a pair of cuffs locked around her hands.

Lisa never felt so humiliated in her life. Her neighbors laughed and took pictures of her, that had begun to trend the next day, but she noticed that one person wasn't laughing and that was her best friend, Aaliyah.

They had somewhat of what you would consider a fallout, the reason for this was that Aaliyah had told Lisa that she caught Emily - Lisa's girlfriend cheating, but Lisa defended Emily with her all and told Aaliyah that she would always be by her girlfriend's side till the day she dies.

She and an intuition that Aaliyah had taken her word seriously and killed her or did someone else had something to do with this and had decided to make Lisa look like the culprit; but throughout all the doubts and accusations thrown her way, Victoria stood by her through it all.

She was so surprised when Victoria came to her cell and voluntarily offered to be her lawyer.

Victoria led countless accused of crimes to victory, even though defending the innocent was just her job on the side, and because of this, she had begun to accumulate a large mass of followers, even more than the president.

Lisa had one last trial session after this, and that trial was going to determine if she was guilty or not; This was when the jury gave their opinion, which was an important part of the trail overall along with the Judge's opinion.

The Jury sat and soaked in all the information that was being given to them liked a sponge, and sitting there in the Jury was no other than the stranger, he was casually resting his hands on the handle on the cubicle-like space that was reserved for members of the Jury only.

He watched with an amused expression plastered on his face as, Cecrie or should he say, Lisa, has once again placed his/her self, he was not really sure on how to address his friend, in another love consequence.

The stranger was once again assigned to another observation mission, and it was getting a bit annoying, he wanted to do the good kinds of stuff like blowing up a building or breaking another girl's heart when revealing himself as a double agent, 'What such good times', he thought.

Boss had ordered him to retrieve Cecrie and bring him back to the headquarters to be placed into the hole.

The hole was like a punishment program for agents who caused a lot of trouble for E.A.S.O; it was what you would call a military boot camp; where they did training and workout programs you never knew existed, the stranger knew this because he's been there a plethora of times.

The stranger released a chuckle when he caught the death glare Victoria threw towards the judge; the judge was an old fat guy hosting a bald spot in the center of his head, his eyebrows were untamed and it had a mixture of white and brown hairs.

His eyes had wrinkles around and his jaw looked like a Bull Dog's, he had a slouched posture and had a bored expression on his face.

Victoria was getting very frustrated with this case.

The person being accused looked like she couldn't care less about what type of sentence she was about to receive; the judge looked like they forced him to be here and jury; she did not know what to think of them.

She was starting to feel woozy from all the debating and convincing he had to do.

To top it all she was starving she did not have enough time this morning to eat something because she was running late.

Mrs. Briggs wanted to come over to the Condo this morning to bring some things to contribute to the baby's nursery but sadly she was not able to because of her case, so she had postponed it towards the evening, and she was getting late.

Victoria was at the courthouse from about five in the morning and it was now four in the afternoon, and the trial was scheduled to end from about eleven in the morning, and the time was way overdue.

She wanted to scream and curse, almost all of the person who had been here today was slowly leaving the courtroom and the judge looked as he was a minute away from falling asleep and Lisa looked as if she wanted this to over as if it was better if she was she went to prison.

The time was now seven in the evening, and she had about a dozen missed calls from Mrs. Briggs. She did not want to give the impression to Mrs. Briggs, as is she stood her up; so she went into the hall and sent a very quick voice not to Mrs. Briggs, explaining to her that the trial was still in session, and she did not have the permission from the judge to leave the courtroom to go home.

Ten minutes later both the jury and the judge declared Lisa of any charge and that she was free to go, Victoria noticed that someone who was a member of the jury, went over to Lisa and dragged her through the door and towards the hall,.

Curious, Victoria got up to follow, when suddenly someone spilled a cold cup of coffee and her shirt without issuing an apology. Sighing angrily, Victoria went to the washroom and did not get to appease her curious brain.
