Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

If one enters Gu Yue Clan at this time one would find it much quieter than before, with people going about their business seemingly peaceful but only those affected know of the darkness that had befallen it.

It happened a year ago when after one of the regular meetings, the Elders of the clan let the hell lose on their clan.

The life that the children once used to live, the carefree days where they only have to worry about basic education, everything got turned to ashes with the arrival of Academic Achievement Rankings.

Just because of the two devils of the clan now every child, below 15 had to throw themselves into the hell known as studies. If not then one should be ready to pay the price of having your cousin's parents brag in front of one's own.

The establishment of such rankings although unexpected but wasn't a complete surprise to Fang Zheng as the Academy Elder already hinted to him about it along with the reason in a vague manner, most likely to increase his sense of belonging to the clan which he didn't mind.

Now with the core knowledge of the clan such as different refinement methods, gu recipes, etc. being available to him for study which he acquired after making academic achievements and being first in academic achievement ranking he let loose his abilities.

His turned to his inheritance which could be divided into two parts, the first of which is the physique mutation he received and the second is the information which can be further divided into different sections.

1. The knowledge about different Gu and the dao marks they contain or are related to, the interconnected relationship between them.

2. Creation methods of different artificial environments that will allow the birth of different wild Gu.

3. The knowledge of 22 outer paths Gu and the 9 Gu that represent the path of the Oldest One.

There are a total of 229 Gu with 22 sets of 10 Gu, each representing a Gu from Rank 1 to Rank 10 and 9 Gu that represent the path ahead.

The Inheritance gave him complete knowledge about the GUs, from their abilities, and refinement methods optimized for each one to the detailed explanation of why it was done so, what could be the effect of methods different than suggested, etc.

Fang Zheng had already realized that Gu Yue Clan doesn't have the channels to Procure the resources he will require in the future and that's why he started to make his own preparation.

To get the initial investment from the clan he needs a large amount of contribution which he started by making using his analytical abilities and the core knowledge that the clan provided him to leave detailed notes regarding his thoughts and ideas with every book he read which soon caught the attention of the clan.

He chooses this approach for simple reasons. First, this is a small clan so sabotaging attempts will be minimal. Second, if he can't even trust his clan in face of such a small risk then how will he live outside in the future? He is the kind of guy who will easily place his trust in people he forms a connection with, and living a life alone is a bit too bleak for his taste, that's how he lived his previous life and he plans to live this one just the same dispite knowing the risk involved, and although he knows he was taking risk, he made sure to not reveal anything that can't be deduced from the knowledge available in the clan itself.

One year later

In the center of the Gu Yue Village, there is a magnificent pavilion two figures could be seen facing each other in the study room.

"Greetings, Fang Zheng come sit, Academy Elder told me that you wanted to meet
me alone. What is it? Feel free to tell me whatever you have in mind" said Gu Yue Bo as he gestured to Fang Zhen to take the seat in front of him.

"Greetings clan leader, have you read the reviews I left with the Academy Elder" Instead of answering, Fang Zheng asked another question as he took his seat. These reviews contain all the ideas he could think of to upgrade the clan's current method of refinement, rearing, etc without shedding light on his extra knowledge of inheritance.

" Of course I did, they have been quite enlightening" Although Gu Yue Bo said it lightly in truth he was selling them short, after all even if they were limited to Rank 1 GUs, they were enough for my elders of refinement path of Gu Yue Clan to make a breakthrough, this is also the reason the not a single old fox let out fart even though Fang Zheng was awarded contribution points almost wantonly.

" I am glad, after all that the clan did for me I can finally repay a little bit.
Clan leader, although this is only a theory that would need a lot of practical effort before it becomes useful, l still want to present my first Gu recipe to the clan.

I call this Gu, Eater Gu, it only has two functions of continuously eating and storing the primeval essence of its user. Its sustainability also requires the primeval essence of the user and any excess will be stored inside the Gu, the only thing unknown is storing limit and what is special about it is that once it is killed it releases all the stored essence at once allowing the owner of the Gu to use it however they see fit.

According to me this Gu not only allows its user to have extra energy stored for emergencies but can also allow any rank 1 Gu master regardless of their talented to brute-force their breakthrough to Rank two Gu Masters" said, Fang Zheng while presenting Gu Yue Bo the recipe, leaving him reeling with disbelief not because Fang Zhang was able to produce a new recipe as that was something he already expected to happen sooner or later considering the boy's attainments from the notes he left . What he didn't imagine was for it to be a kind of Gu that could flip the world upside down and the boy was just a little more than a seven years old .
