Jaydon Aiko
One Week Later
I stopped at my favorite coffee shop before I headed to work I was supposed to drop off what I had for the boys this week but they came for it early this morning so the extra time I had will be invested in me logging around the city for that extra hour before getting to work.
I parked properly and headed inside where I sat down waiting for someone to take my order.
"Good morning Mr. Aiko, what do you want this morning?" Kate one of the waitresses here asked me.
" I will have my regular double cappuccino and chocolate coffee along with a bagel," I said a bit annoyed that she sat in front of me.
She smiled at me and I took out my phone looking at a message from Kacie, Kate always flirted with me and I found it a bit disgusting but I never disrespected her because this was her work environment and I was trained to do better than that, the only place Kate hasn't left her number is on my bagel every day she wrote it somewhere else and I'd act as if I've never seen it.
The gesture was indeed cute but I just didn't care about it.
"There's a party at my place this Saturday would you like to come?" Katie asked still not presenting my coffee.
"Do I have to call your manager or what, I've been in here for about ten minutes now the place is empty and I have yet to get my coffee?" I stated and she quickly jumped up from the table and sauntered off trying her best to make her hips sway side to side, she looked like Bambi but that was her business.
I planned out my days and had a specific schedule so I got up and walked out of the coffee shop heading to the Starbucks across the road and ordered what I wanted quickly before heading back to my car and driving to work, I felt extra cranky I didn't have the right coffee this bagel taste like paper and I didn't get the chance to walk through the town.
I clocked in and went to my office to start my twelve-hour shift, I spent most of my time working with children who had to do follow-ups at the hospital other time I'm in various departments do different specialties, I put my phone on silent checking to see if Kacie texted me but she didn't.
I knew it was weird that I kept thinking about her, she is way younger than me eight years to be exact, but I was attracted to her, she handled the blocks well, she was smart and quick at Math, she had an amazing memory that was weirdly a turn on, her bright smile, beautiful, chocolate skin and her sense of humor was enough to make me want to take the risk.
But we texted every day after she left my house and I saw her about twice after that but Max and Jay were around so I kept the conversation short and discreet.
I put on gloves as I headed to the children's ward preparing myself to interact with them hoping it would take my mind off Kacie.
