Albus ran out of the door and quickly scanned his surroundings. He saw three men. One had his hands all over Olivia whilst the other two were cheering from the sidelines, and also making sure she couldn't get away. Albus closed the door and thought that a direct approach was the best idea so he called out.
''Hey you! Get your filthy hands off my maid!'' Albus debated saying slave or maid but if he said slave Olivia might beat him up after. The one holding Olivia responded with ''What's she to you? Piss of ant.'' They always had to make fun of his height. Even though he was confident that we average. This infuriated Albus so he yelled ''I just said she was my maid dumbass!''
The man holding Olivia passed her on to one of his goons. ''Hold her.'' he said grumpily. ''I'm about to knock some sense into this midget.'' The man stepped out of the shadows revealing a long but narrow scar stretching from his chin all the way to the top of his scalp and a small goatee. A very intimidating look.
Albus wasn't necessarily scared but he didn't like his odds. The man was a giant and he didn't have any weapons or a shield to counter his attacks. The man's fists were the size of small boulders. 'He would've been a great blacksmith with those hands' Albus thought to himself. ''So how are we going to do this? If I say boo loud enough you guys will back off right?'' Albus said cheekily. ''Haha!'' The man bellowed, ''You're funny, kid! It's sad that you have to die now.'' The man continued, not settling any of Albus' nerves.
''Hey you know, maybe we can figure this out or something. You know I have some really good olives in my garden.'' Albus said to calm himself. The man just laughed again ''You've got some nerve I'll give you that kid, but now it's time to fight!'' The man was quicker than Albus thought. But not quick enough. The man swung his arm towards Albus but he just hit the air. The man was so sure of hitting Albus that he nearly fell over and had to regain his balance by making a ballerina-like turn.
Albus found this very amusing ''Wow you should become a ballerina or something, you have the talent for it!'' Albus said boldly. The man responded by saying ''You're a quick one kid, I'll give you that.'' He regained his footing and stood more on his guard for Albus' speed.
Albus didn't feel like dragging this on and decided to make a move. He moved like he was going to punch the man right in his gut but fainted at the last second and punched the man right in his kidney. The man fell down on his knees and gasped loudly because of the air being forced out of him.
''Low blow kid.'' He said quietly. ''I might have to get serious for this.'' The man said whilst deepening his expression. He took on a professional stance and started circling around Albus. Albus decided to go with the flow and did the same. Who landed the first punch now won.
Albus decided to wait for the first move but that first move never came so he had to restrategize. 'Perhaps going for the same move would work again?' Albus thought. But that would never work. The man was on his guard now. Maybe he shouldn't faint and just go right for his gut. With Albus' speed it was do-able.
Albus decided to just go for it and went into a more crouching position. He tensed up his muscles and he dashed towards the man. The man was narrowly tracking Albus' movement and saw he was moving for his gut so he decided to make himself smaller. Albus' fist struck but it didn't do much damage and simultaneously the man brought his elbow down onto Albus' shoulder. Olivia screamed but she was quickly silenced by the goon holding her.
Albus also screamed out, but in pain as he couldn't feel his arm for a second. Albus quickly backed away to regain his senses and mocked up a plan. A frontal attack will never work, he just learned. Albus and the man were circling again both racking their brains wondering what to do. The man clearly had the upper hand so Albus decided to lower his guard.
''Before you kill me. What's your name?'' Albus said as he was struggling with every breath. ''Adrian'' The man responded. ''Ah, after the city I suppose?'' Albus replied, genuinely interested. ''Yeah, my parents thought it was a beautiful town, but enough talking, let's get to fighting!'' The man rushed at Albus with his head down.
In the seconds before Adrian struck Albus he had a few seconds. In these precious seconds to strategize Albus had other thoughts. 'What does he think he is? A bull?' Albus was snapped out of his train of thought when Adrian started roaring ''I'll have your head!'' Albus shuddered, he isn't getting any head nevertheless is he having mine.
Albus quickly spun on his feet avoiding the raging bull's attack. Adrian stopped and turned around confused ''Hey why did you dodge? That's not supposed to happen.'' Albus just looked at him sheepishly ''What, am I supposed to just let me hit you?'' Albus responded sarcastically. ''Well yes of course! That was my special attack!'' Adrian, the idiotic bull, bellowed.
Albus just sighed 'Right, that's enough of this, time to bring Olivia out of harms way' Albus thought. ''Well this time, maybe I'll let you hit you'' Albus said cheekily, hoping Adrian would do the same thing. ''Alright then! Here I come!'' Adrian yelled. 'Of course he's actually doing it' Albus thought, not believing Adrian's stupidity.
Albus had figured something out. If he just let Adrian pass him again and when just at the moment he was going to pass. Albus would kick his side letting Adrian tumble. If Adrian was on the ground Albus could knock him out with one hit to the eye socket. Adrian put his head down again and was running at Albus again.
Albus, now prepared, started to dance a bit on his toes to make sure he was fast enough to dodge the bull. Adrian was just about to hit Albus when Albus dodged out of the way. Albus quickly extended his foot with lots of power behind it and hit Adrian punishingly in his side. Adrian lost his footing because of this and fell to the floor clutching his side.
''You asshole! You said you wouldn't dodge!'' Adrian yelled out. Albus just cooly responded with ''Don't expect your opponent to fight fair.'' Albus then got on top of Adrian and in a quick flash Albus punched him. Adrian was knocked out cold.
Albus stood up calmly and looked at the goons clutching Olivia. ''You guys want some as well?'' They both quickly shook their heads and ran off, dragging Adrian's unconscious body behind them. ''Are you okay?'' Albus asked worriedly. Olivia just looked away ''You took your time'' Olivia said annoyed. ''Oh we're playing this game huh?'' Albus replied, not really enjoying the way Olivia is behaving.
Albus looked at the scene around him. A box was shattered where Adrian 'the bull' crashed in doing one of his runs. There were no spectators since they were in a quiet part of town. Albus grabbed his shoulder and massaged it. ''Ugh'' Albus grunted because of the pain. He looked at the sun which was already descending.
''I have to go'' Albus told Olivia. ''I'll just take my horse there, no need for a carriage.'' Albus continued. ''Very well Albus, thank you for helping me I suppose'' Albus walked to the stable where his trusty horse Tempest was waiting for him. Tempest sniffed his hand and pushed her head against Albus.
''Alright settle down girl, atleast you're nicer than Olivia today. She has a short temper these days. Has she been treating you well?'' Albus said whilst patting Tempest. Tempest just neighed in approvement. ''Alright let's get going girl'' Albus said whilst climbing on his back.
Albus led Tempest to the main street and saw Olivia waving from the window. He waved back and got going.
