Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : Genesis

The Divine Country of Ophelia

The Lunar month, XXXX

Pain, all I felt was pain. My whole body became numb as I poured all my power towards the the relic; what went wrong? How did this happen? They weren't supposed to be here.

"Lumile! If you keep doing this, you will die!" I shook my head "If I stop now, all of light as we know it will perish. Solaris and Lunaria are nowhere to be found and no deity is powerful enough to maintain the relic's balance." I have to fulfill my duty or else everything will be at risk. The fire god, Kaiser grit his teeth "You know this isn't enough!"  I looked at him with a determined expression.

"I know.. but it will buy us some time"  suddenly a loud noise was heard outside our door "Kaiser! You must leave!" The fire god shook his head as he stubbornly stood his ground "I can't leave you here!" The noises became louder and louder "KAISER YOU HAVE TO LEAVE!"

Then the door burst open and a pack of corrupted serpents charged towards me "LUMILE!!!"

A bright light emitted and suddenly, everything was blurry.

"Please... save us..."

It was another productive yet depressing day of writing my work. It's been months since I've holed up inside my apartment staring and typing at my laptop non-stop. My body currently runs itself on caffeine, nothing more.

It's been years since I've planned writing my own novel. A novel that I've put my all ever since I was 9 years old. I began planning the complexity of my story ever since I knew how to write, I built and planned lores about every single bit of my story down from the characters to the very world they all resided.

When I was young, I got severely depressed. My

People told me that my story was too complex and confusing but I knew they didn't look at things in my own perspective. They'll only understand once I've finished my work.

After I've done the first overview of the fruits of my labor I tried looking for a publishing

company to share my masterpiece. A well detailed story, a novel where people can be

transported to a world I had created. At first I had hope for my work to be published, but they discarded me and said my work was too complicated... But in the end they copied all of it.

I lost hope but I prevailed on doing my passion. I continued to work on the novel and

researched every publishing companies I could in order to share my work and get it printed.

But they still continued to leech off my work, and stole little pieces of it. They took advantage of me because I was a minor and a woman.

It didn't take a while for me to lose my trust and decided to keep all the novel to myself. I

continued to work on my book to the most detailed piece.

People said working was fun when the work that they did was their passion. They were right, even if no one would be able to read it; I was still there improving and giving my characters a purpose and a place they all call home. I thought of them as my only friends even though they exist in the corners of my mind. They were all I had, I refuse to leave them behind.

But I never realized how quick life could change with a single nap. Last time I knew it, I opened my eyes and there I was.

In the place I had written down in my mind to the last details, in the place I worked hard to

build, In the world I took years to create.

Could it be?
