The most interesting things in life happens when you least expect it. It's cliché, but also very true. Like my life, for example, when I turned two years old I lost my vision completely. It was during this time that I learned that humans viewed others whom they deem 'handicapped' as a disease. My parents turned their backs on me after they learned that the doctors couldn't heal my eyes.
They are world class classical musicians who tour the world to make money. My mother is a gifted violinist while my father is a pianist. They often play accompaniment pieces together. I also have three elder siblings who are talented as well.
I just turned eight years old today and my maid, Kristen, has been ripping and running the entire morning. Even my butler, Earnest, was a bit worried for her. He usually only cares for few people, including myself, and this was quite rare. I was quietly sitting by the windowsill in the living area as I tried to picture how the trees and grass looked. Kristen often spoke of how there were an infinite amount of colors. But, sadly I could never understand any of what she was trying to convey.
"I don't see the point of hosting a birthday party this year. You and I both know that nobody will come. I have no friends and my parents are definitely not worried about me. Only those figureheads will try to come to carry favor with me like they do every year."
"Young master, please refrain from saying such things. Kristen and I are with you. We will celebrate with you." Earnest coolly replied.
"I want to try going to public school for once. Home school is too boring and I feel stifled being inside the mansion everyday. I don't have to make friends or anything outlandish like that, however, to feel normal for once is nice." I chimed.
{Not something most children beg to go and do, am I right? Such a weird child, Ha.}
"Young master Skylar, we tried to convince the Master and Miss on countless occasions and the answer has always been the same. Now, it's time to get dressed."
Earnest gently took off my nightwear and dressed me up in a pair of kaki pants with a checkered short sleeved shirt. He then bushed my raven colored, shoulder link hair to untangle and unruly hair. After he put me on a new pair of black and white converse I put on my black Rolex watch and matching black diamond earring studs.
I never had an idea of what I looked like, but from the way both Kristen and Earnest talked about my parents, I shouldn't look too horrible.
"Well, let's get this stupid party over and done with." I sighed.
