Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Enrolling in the Academy!

The Headmaster of the Royal Frost Academy and Whittaker, a commoner, walked hand in hand and went inside the magical Academy ground through the open Gate.

Unlike the winter world outside, the academy ground was filled with a warmth that eased Whittaker into this newfound environment.

With a bang that startled him, the Academy gate automatically closed after they went inside.

Hera was left stranded in the cold, unsure about what to do, he stood still but this lasted only for a short while.

A shiny snowy owl token appeared in front of his eyes, without conscious thoughts, he grabbed it into his hand.

Feeling the surface of the token on his thumb, Hera marveled at its smoothness. The Snowy owl token emitted a warmness that soothed his entire body.

"You can use this token to enter the Academy grounds once a year for only one day to meet Whittaker. As for the rest of his matters, it's now the Academy's responsibility. You can go now, the boy is in safe hands." Hera, who stood outside the Academy ground, heard the kind voice of the Headmaster, who was inside the Academy ground, in his head.

He was startled only for a second since he knew that this was the famous magical communication used by mages. It's also called telepathy.

Glimpsing one last time at the Frost Fall Academy, he wished Whittaker all the best and left with a back straightened due to pride.

His little brother has officially enrolled in the most famous Royal Academy of Frost Fall City. This matter has filled his heart with Pride.

The academy ground was unusually peaceful, unlike what he had expected. No soul wandered in these Lush Greenery, except them. Was he the only one who enrolled in the Royal Frost Fall Academy today? If so, why? Such thoughts wandered in Whittaker's mind.

The headmaster attentively replied to satisfy the curious nature of the new student, "Most of the students in this Academy are of noble lineage. Unlike you, they enrolled in my Academy before the Birth of Dragon and Phoenix Ceremony. And yes, today you are the only one to enroll in the Academy."

Whittaker halted his steps, Startled he said, "How did you read my thoughts?"

The headmaster naturally also stopped, lowering his head to look at Whittaker, who stood beside him. He saw the boy's crystal eyes gawking at him, and the wide-open mouth of the young boy.

"Read your thoughts? Haha, young boy, no need to be frightened. I can read people's minds, every mage can do that, you will be able to do it too. As for when it depends upon the teacher who will be tasked to teach magic in your classroom." With a light chuckle, the headmaster said to diffuse Whittaker mild tension.

He was excited at the prospect of learning the magic that will enable him to read minds. Along with that, Whittaker also took extra notice of what he should be thinking at all times, as any mage could read his thought if they wished to.

"Old Mister, can I ask you something?" Whittaker said.

The tree leaves fluttered with the calm and warm breezes. In this serenity, someone was fed up at being reminded that he was old.

"Call me Headmaster from now on since you are a student. And yes, you can." the kind old man gently said. He still kept his calm as to not frighten the little boy.

"Headmaster, you were still in the Hall of Awakening when I left to reach the Academy. I also didn't saw the carriage you drove to reach here. So, how did you suddenly appeared out of nowhere when I was fighting Barbarian Luo and stopped his attack?" Whittaker asked. Previously, he was too occupied with the magical environment in his surrounding that's why he just asked this important question.

"I don't drive carriages, they are too slow to be a part of my liking, and don't be surprised, I was still in the Hall of Awakening when you started to fight with Barbarian Luo. I suddenly appeared because I wanted to." Headmaster didn't tell Whittaker that he has been eyeing him all this time or the fact that he appeared to save his life.

Did he hear it, right? Whittaker was very puzzled, he felt like either he had gone crazy or Headmaster was speaking in an alien language that was identical to English. If so then headmaster words held a completely different meaning.

Before the young boy intelligent brain fries with questions, the headmaster muttered to himself.

"Space Split, Location Rifts, Dean's office!"

His long robes with wide sleeves began to move as mana wafted from his body. His heart fluttered even though there was no wind and his beard oscillated.

Whittaker could see an indistinct thread moving in circles in the space beyond them.

A black spiral formed—a spatial tunnel that connects to the Deans' office.

The black spiral devoured Headmaster and Whittaker without their consent.

Whittaker world was shrouded in darkness as if the shining bright lights of the street lamps had been shrouded in a muddled layer.

The next second light entered his vision. He found himself standing in a completely unfamiliar environment.

"Don't be confused. This is the power of space magic, moving from one place to another within an instant. Currently, we are at the dean's office located on the first floor of the Academy's main building."

"Oh!" He was surprised as they have traveled a distance of 100+ meters in an instant. Thoughts about the wonderful Space magic filled his mind, unaware that it was all a distant dream.

In the dean's office, there was only one person.

"Headmaster, welcome back. How has your day officiating the Birth of Dragon and Phoenix ceremony been?" A young handsome and dashing man, who sat behind the desk, said. His lustrous black hair flowing down from each side like a waterfall. Long bangs that stretched out to his eyes covered his forehead. His eyes were as unusual as Whittaker's, crystallized gold they were, glittering like a piece of jewelry under the limelight of the room. Weirdly enough, he was wearing a navy suit as if it was his wedding.

"Ah, Frankenstein, just the usual, like every year, you know. However this year I came across this prodigy. Meet Whittaker, he awakened frost spellbook just some while ago and have already grasped a frost spell." He said while pointing at Whittaker.

"Nice to meet you, Whittaker." Frankenstein smiled while staring into the pretty young boy's eyes. For Whittaker, Frankenstein sparkling white teeth and jewels like eyes was too shiny for his little heart.

How can a man be this handsome? Whittaker used to believe that he is the most handsome man in the world, but after seeing Frankenstein his mind changed. Frankenstein was the most handsome man he had ever seen in his entire life.

"Nice to meet you too, Dean Frankenstein," he replied while shying away from his gaze.

The headmaster placed some certificates correlating information about Whittaker and the recommendation letter on the desk.

"Frankenstein, I will trouble you to help him register. Please do this at once."

Frankenstein understood the importance of this matter due to the headmaster's urgent tone.
