The first place that Ruka showed them was the Royal Library that stored a lot of information. It had three floors, each connected through teleportation portals, a common sight in the Awakened continent. But Whittaker has never used one, as a city to city trip costs 10 Gold pieces, a price he and his humble family don't dare to afford.
The Royal Library was located at the center of the academy's main building. Currently, many students could be seen studying while sitting on the desk upon which an illuminated Light Orb was placed.
"The Academy library stores a lot of information about our world, and you can come here to self-study about history, dungeons, beasts, races and learn about the seven lands. Now, let's go to the next place!" Teacher Ruka glanced at the students, and on her face appeared a happy smile.
Her happiness was bursting out as she was living her dream life. Spending time with the little and cute muffins every day and seeing their reactions was all that she wished for.
The newly enlisted students marveled at the artistic concept of the Library as they followed teacher Ruka out of the hallway. Whittaker decided to visit this place often so that he can learn more about dungeons and races. He was homeschooled and knew some about the history of this world, somewhat about the water kingdom, and a handful about the basics of Class weapons.
What he lacked was the knowledge about dungeons and the way to earn money. His goal was to become rich enough to buy a mansion in the city for Mother Lin and of course himself. So he wanted to start earning money and amass a fortune to buy a house in the city.
They walked out of the Royal Library and entered the Hallway.
As they walked through the hallways, Yato remembered to ask a question.
"Teacher Ruka, I have a question related to Class weapons that I forgot to ask during the class but can I ask now?" Yato asked teacher Ruka.
Teacher Ruka said:
"Feel free to do so,"
"The Class weapons, why are they classified into different ranks. Why are F-ranked spellbooks considered useless and S-ranked spellbooks considered as the best?" Yato asked with an anticipated expression.
"Have you been living under a rock all this time, or are you acting like an idiot to attract attention?" Charlotte said. "Even flies and the commoners knows why F-ranked Class weapons are considered trash, so there's no way that you do not know about this basic information!"
The anticipated expression on Yato's face waned because of the blonde tigress.
Whittaker didn't like how she used the words flies and commoner in the same sentence, he wanted to retort but someone was faster.
Teacher Ruka flickered her fingers on Charlotte's forehead.
"Ouch!" Charlotte shouted reflexively due to the stinging and rubbed her ruddy forehead.
"No vulgar words allowed in the academy!" Ruka warned Charlotte with a stern face.
"Teacher, I am not lying for attention. I really don't know." Yato protested with a trembling voice. He stared at Ruka with his wide innocent eyes filled with hope. He hoped that the teacher will believe him.
Having always been without experience with society, as at home Yato was shunned by his family and not allowed to learn how to read or write, right now he was oblivious to what occurs in the outside world. He was treated so badly that he didn't know the information that even flies know!
Ruka didn't mind answering the question that Yato asked, educating the student was her profession, a responsibility that comes with living her dream.
"It's pretty simple. F-ranked Class weapons, such as spellbooks have seven elemental attributes. A mage with an F-ranked spellbook can cast seven types of elemental spells, but it comes with a massive disadvantage. A mage who awakens an F-ranked spellbook can only cast F-ranked elemental spells. While a mage who awakens an S-ranked spellbook can cast F-ranked to S-ranked elemental spells. F-ranked elemental spells are only good enough to take down normal animals and beasts with a power level between 1-3. Animals that even classless can kill."
"Thank you, teacher." Yato expressed his gratitude to the kind homeroom teacher, who believed in him.
By that time, they have walked out of the Academy's main-building and stepped upon the winding path.
The winding path was packed with students. Their Students Id hung around the neck. Whittaker was gazing at their IDs while following teacher Ruka to the next destination. He noticed that there are only First-year, second-year, and lastly, third-year students in the Academy. That means that graduation from the academy comes after passing third-year classes!
At this time, a clear and melodious voice came from beside him,
"Hello, I am called Lily Carter, Lily as in flower, an F-ranked Smog mage. Nice to meet you." She extended her hand out.
Smog Spellbook was classified as a B-ranked Class weapon, and her announcement certainly attracted the attention of those in the surrounding, and the students who walked past them. Well, everyone, except teacher Ruka, who knew that Lily was the young treasured princess of the Carter family that ruled the Frost Fall City. Her father was the Mayor of this city!
Charlotte held a smug expression on her face as if saying, "Grovel at the feet of my friend and worship her like a goddess!"
Whittaker noticed that it was Lily Carter, the blue-haired girl that kept on looking at him during the class. Looking closely, he noticed that her face was lovely, like a riped peach tempting others to bite into. To say the least, she is bound to be a gorgeous beauty.
He obliged with basic courtesy and replied while shaking her hand, "Hi, I am Whittaker Lin, an F-ranked Frost mage. Nice to meet you too!"
The moment he announced that everyone in the surrounding received a shock!
The students walking in the distance stopped.
Teacher Ruka's eyes widened in surprise. The smug expression on Charlotte's prideful face faded away.
Yato and Ruth's eyes shined with different thoughts as they gazed at Whittaker.
The star of this show, Lily, was lost in bliss. The warmth traveled from Whittaker's hand into her own, and feeling this warmth was enough to make blood rush to her head. Her first love has touched her hand, this thought was enough to drown Lily in a wild fantasy of her own, and the fact that the man she had decided to "Marry" was also a Snow mage, caused her heart to thump super fast.
Due to the blood rush caused by excessive excitement, her nose started to bleed. Her scarlet blood dripped down from her nose and stained the white academy uniform.
Whittaker's eyes widened as he saw blood, "You are bleeding!", he said to Lily.
