Mika's POV
-BLAG!-
I heard a shriek from the office when Jamaica kicked the door. I think she overdid it. Jamaica leaned on the door as she speak.
"Mind if we come in?"
Sumilip si Elisse sa loob at kumaway. She waved her hand as she smile.
"Hello, James." she greeted, making her way inside. "Oh. Bukas 'yung pinto kaya pumasok na lang ako. Do you mind? Of course, you don't." she giggled.
Kierra followed but Jean stayed at her seat by the corridor. Tiningnan ko siya but she motioned her hand.
"Business talks are annoying." she said.
I made my way inside with Jamaica behind me. I saw Mr. Montereal sitting at the black sofa chair in front of the glass table. Confusion is visible on his face. Not really agitated but there's a hint of disturbance.
But what caught my attention the most.. was the briefcase, lying on his lap. Oh, and tightly secured on his grasps.
James Montereal, age 35. Chief Executive Officer of Axel Base 3, 3rd branch of Axel's Company here, in Central City. A man worthy for this position, thanks to his leadership skills and strategy planning. He got himself a stable job for over 10 years of serving. But the report from two months ago marked his end.
Allow me to expose his hidden agenda. The act of someone wrongfully appropriating funds that have been entrusted to their care but which are owned by someone else... namely Embezzlement. A source kept him under surveillance and last week's report was a Go signal for us.
He quickly stood up when he saw me.
"Ms. Axel."
He glanced at Jamaica.
"Shame. Mukhang mapapalitan na'to." she touched it as she looked at Mr. Montereal.
Whilst I sat at the sofa chair in front of him.
"Ms. Axel. What a pleasant surprise." he said.
I looked at him. "Did we came at the wrong time?"
"No, no. It's just.. Umm.." he sat down. "I-I wasn't expecting any visitors." he said, his gaze being playful.
I smirked. "Really? I guess even a CEO gets free schedule."
He looked at me and smile. "I guess so, too."
I wiped the smirk on my face. "But you're not free today."
He stopped smiling. I took the paper from my pocket and showed it to him.
"You have an appointment with our VIP client Mr. Wilson, Mr. Montereal." I said.
His eyes widen at the paper and gulped.
"And to what I know, he's an important client." I looked at the paper.
He quickly bowed. "I'm sorry, Ms. Axel!"
"What business made you leave him hanging?"
"No-nothing, Ms. Axel!"
I looked at him. "Do you think lowly of him?" I asked threateningly.
"N-no! Of course not, Ms. Axel."
I smirked. "Of course, you don't. You won't be here if you do."
He didn't respond.
"In case you forget, here's your schedule." I threw the paper on the table. "I took care of it so worry no more."
He looked at me. "W-why?"
Jamaica smirked. "Instead of asking WHY, why don't you... SAY THANK YOU INSTEAD?!" sigaw ni Jamaica habang nakangiti.
Agad namang nagpasalamat si Mr. Montereal.
"Don't mention it."
He looked directly at my eyes.
"W-What brings you here, if I may ask?" tanong niya at ngumiti ng alanganin.
"Pest-control."
Tumingin siya kay Jamaica nang magsalita ito.
Jamaica smiled creepily at him. "Kidding."
Mr. Montereal nervously chuckled before asking me the same question, only to be cut half-way by Elisse.
"Embezz.."
Mr. Montereal's eyes widen and quickly looked at Elisse. I smirked at his sudden reflex. Wrong move, mate.
Elisse looked at him and smiled. "Embezz na black, bakit 'di mo gawing pink yung mga upuan? Mas maganda 'yun."
"I-I'll think of it." he said, nodding once.
He sat properly, blinking several times after and repeated the question for the third time.
I stared at him for a good minute. "Paying a visit. I heard there's a leech," I looked at the briefcase he's holding. "sucking up the company's money."
"I haven't heard.. of such thing." he said.
"Had I not been so sure," I looked at him. "I wouldn't be here right now." I said.
He stared at me for a few seconds before smiling. "I suppose so. I apologize for that, Ms. Axel. I'll handle this issue right away."
Tatayo na sana siya pero nagsalita ako.
I smiled. "Please."
He stopped and looked at me.
"Do sit down." I said, motioning my hand on his seat.
He looked at his chair before looking at me nervously.
I smirked. "We've got a lot to talk about."
