Pain. Is this a feeling? An emotion? Or simply just an another bothersome thing trying to get in my way. Pain. This is all I felt at the moment. My eyes fluttered open. A hazy fire burned beside me. Black and grey smoke engulfed the entire scene. Screams echoed around which sounded so close yet so far all at once. I attempted to move my right arm only to feel pain strike within my arm. I felt so angry, yet so sad. Suddenly I felt a huge shadow loom over me and my gaze fell upon a colossal hideous monster.
"Well hello there Aiden," a voice teased cockily, "so much for being the worlds best magician eh?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." I croaked weakly. "Who am I?"
The strange being carefully and gently lifted me up by the scruff of my torn and burnt shirt.
"Don't play these games with me boy!" He shouted angrily. "You massacred my whole tribe and you thought you could get away with it?"
"I seriously don't know what you are saying." I confessed to him. "Who are you? And what do you want from me?"
Suddenly I felt myself falling, I shut my eyes and braced for impact on the hard cold ground. "Looks like someone hit their head on the ground too hard." It said smirking.
A mixture of emotions overwhelmed me. Where was I? What was I doing here? What is happening? What and Who is this strange being? Anger, Annoyance, fear. All at once these thoughts and emotions escaped me as I felt myself slip away unconscious...
"AH! Don't kill me!" I screamed.
"Whoa, hold your horses man," said a nervous looking boy on my left side, "It's not like we're trying to kill you or anything." he said stumbling backwards and almost tripping over the hemostat.
I scanned my surroundings carefully and was laying in a hospital bed with a cast on both of my legs and my right arm. A considerable TV showed an X-ray of my broken ribs, a broken arm, and broken legs. The hospital seemed pretty busy with patients, doctors, and nurses rushing and stumbling around outside of my window. I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my neck and felt my neck with my left arm. I felt a needle and quickly pulled it out grimacing at the pain. The room seemed so harmonious... so snug and everything just seemed so introspective.
"So," the boy asked hesitantly,(more scared of me than I was scared of him), "who are you and what happened to you?"
"I could ask you the same question." I shot back. "Where did you find me? Who am I? How did I get here? WHO DID THIS TO ME?"
I grabbed the scruff of his shirt with my left arm pulling him closer to me. I stared into his light blue eyes. He had a grey t-shirt with the word AMAZING on it. He had dirty blond hair and he was built fairly well, however he had one major flaw, he had a missing hand. His face was sculpted like a master piece, however his expression and nervous fidgeting told me that his confidence wasn't as elegant and resilient
"The boy grimaced slightly in reaction of me pulling him by the scruff and whispered softly "I-I-I found you on the streets in the city," he explained pointing out of the other window to the big city. "y-y-you were unconscious and burnt all over, you looked like you were dead so I called the ambulance"
I loosened my grip on his shirt and his facial expressions told me he was grateful for this. He looked down to the ground played with his 5 fingers.
"So t-t-they took you here and I have been visiting you ever since." he finished sighing as if a huge weight had been lifted off of him.
I let go of him and he stumbled back. "What is your name?" I demanded.
"B-Ben" he stammered looking me in the eye.
"Look, I should probably go now and you should probably get some rest."
He turned and began walking towards the door, but I intercepted him with one last question.
"How long have I been here?" I asked.
This question clearly surprised him and made him uncomfortable because he tripped on one of the blood transferring tubes and bumped his head on the door handle.
"A few d-d-days," he explained rubbing his head vigorously
"Really?" I asked persistently. "Are you sure?"
"Now no more questions you should get some rest." he said quietly.
He opened the door and walked out rubbing his head. I saw him walk past the window and felt as if a spell had been cast over me and my eyes slowly shut on their own and my thoughts nonchalantly drifted off and I fell asleep in unlocked peace.
