Foreseer and the king were still in the laboratory. Their genitals hidden behind the fat overflowing their belly. Panting after their brief efforts, Foreseer asked questions about Seven. She had a growing grudge against him, but the king wasn't near telling her a word on him.
The two were suspicious to each other and their relationship as sex partners was a secret none of them wished the court to know.
In the evening, when she had free time, Foreseer went to Keith's room. She was as silent as a snake and she sat next to him. The kid was aware of her presence because the monster told him, yet he had to stay still.
The woman set her torch on the closest wall and stared at the kid.
His eyes were wide open despite the fact he was asleep. No eyelid to cover the sight, like a curse to behold every misfortune he attracted.
She bend forward and put their forehead together. She closed her eyes, hoping to see as much as possible on his mysteries. She had to lift her weight enough to keep them in touch, and not hurt the kid who had healing tissues on most of of his head. Acting calm, she had difficulties to not shake.
'What?' She thought. Her mind couldn't penetrate the boy's. An intense headache came up with her fruitless attempts. She tried again until she got exhausted, in less than five minutes.
When Keith moved a little she caught his wrists and blocked him against his bed. He moaned because the pressure on his head became too heavy.
In the Explanation, Keith was still learning letters, simple words. When a fat silhouette tried to materialise in it. The teacher was mad, he was ruler of his home so fought the intruder, biting it with its many mouths, tearing it apart as easily as spider web. Mister Show roared in anger.
The echoing scream could be heard distantly by the medium who became confused.
'He's possessed by the devil after all.'
She had not witnessed a thing, she barely heard the monster inside. But because she wasn't able to enter, she concluded the kid was too strong to be alone. She was an experienced person and an old one at that, while in the other hand the kid showed up like a blooming flower out of nowhere.
'She's challenging us! No one challenges me. I am the curse master and occult magic's vector.'
Two hands touched her head. With his irregular fingers on her ears, he said.
"Stop it fatty."
Mister Show's voice exited Keith's throat with an unstable grinning figure.
His wavering voice would move her while the dark abyssal eyes would intrigue her. She could see much more easily through his gaze. That wasn't the kid. It had nothing to do with the guest they hosted until now. It was a monster. She had failed to compare the sound with any voice she knew because she never heard it before.
It was a bizarre voice. Its low register and background humming felt like time had slowed down.
She backed up and the kid stood next to her, advancing with strands of shadow engulfing his face. Overlapping rows of sharp teeth crossed his face and puffs of black smoke marked each step he took forward.
Yet what she couldn't see under the fire's light, she'd imagine it. Her mind completed each frame with her fears. It spoke again.
"I shall punish your intrusion when the times comes. I shall erase this filthy thing you call your sight by turning your eyes into dust."
His tone was manly, potent. Words had the weight of anger. Fume exited his nostrils and mouth, going around his head as he got closer.
'Don't hurt her!' Asked Keith.
"You, you want to take advantage of a blind, puny child? Of a king believing in you? You were bind to a short life ever since you touched my hands."
His monologue turned short. The woman was on her knees. Her elbows and forearms touching the floor, hands facing up. Her forehead hit the ground with a loud 'thud'.
"I have waited for you. Punish me, dark one."
'What?' They thought in unison. Show's goal was to make Foreseer give up any further seeking in his personal space.
Keith thought it was his long awaited retaliations, the protection Show promised him long ago.
Waiting for an answer, she spoke to not give an awkward silence.
"Since my youngest age, I have seen the dark side of the moon. I have seen the unreachable darkness watching me. In many dreams did I foresee your arrival. Now, I am ready, I knew you'd be here for the retribution."
'What nonsense is she spitting?' No one knew. He mind saw many incoming catastrophes. But the most ancient one turned to be the latest to come true. Her mind twisted to become able to withstand the disaster. The more she thought about this distant memory, the more it distorted.
It changed from 'it' arriving, to 'it' destroying. She knew it was a source of destruction yet she didn't know what. With time, her dream became the vision of the dark one's arrival. The one that'll destroy.
She once saw a shadow, bigger than her, engulfing everything. It helped her a lot gaining weight. It became one of her complexes.
Show had no understanding of the situation, yet he could always find a way to turn it to his advantage.
"What if I don't? What can you do in exchange for your bulky life?"
"I can't give you a crown. I can't give you what I don't have. So if I can help you hide among us, I hope you'd be satisfied."
'See, a new hood under which we'll hide. We needed to push her to see her true colours. Turns out she's inoffensive.' Said Show while the kid replied. 'Thanks for not harming her.' He did not know the monster could take over his body.
"Then do you best, woman."
Mister Show was invasive. Keith was trapped, his arms wouldn't move, he couldn't feel his toes, if felt horrible until he noticed his pain was gone. None of his burns nor skin patch would hurt anymore. The peaceful sensation lasted a second before he snapped back, now able to walk by himself and feel the head splitting headache anew.
He held his head for a moment before asking the woman to leave.
She did not look back and escaped the room, walking like the lightest feather.
'I hope he'll fight the incoming catastrophe.' She thought of her newfound saviour. Her alienate mind was unstable and she wasn't able to tell if this devil was a friend or foe.
The same night, Keith had a request.
"Could you take the mask, like you did with the buffalo's head? I want to see it in my mind too. If we have to keep it I want to know how beautiful it is."
The shadow simply gulped it. His whole body was a portal to the kid's mind since he ate his brain.
And once his eyes closed, the boy could see a magnificent piece of wood. Its spherical shape could cover his whole face and the top of his head, the sculpted visage on it looked friendly. It bore a soft smile with bright colours. Most of the paint was a concentration of blue, red and white dots.
It wasn't thick and allowed its wearer to not hurt his neck along the day.
"What a nice gift."
'I like it too. We hold the two by their insides. We pressure them. The king shown interest because he wants to use us too, don't be fooled by his act.' Show snarled.
'We have to build ourselves some backup for security matters. That woman can't be trusted this easily even though she's now driven by terror. Oh I have an idea, we could kill her!'
"We are not doing that!"
The kid saw the smile on the monster face and refused his decision on the spot, but he knew he couldn't do much about it. If Show was able to take over his body, it meant Keith was helpless.
'We need to build ourselves some backup. She may act against us, we must prepare a trap that will lead her to one choice at the time, that's how you manipulate someone. Until now I fought back her spells, but her late actions hit my nerves quite a bit.'
"Why are you this irritated? She meant no harm."
'We, shaman, don't like concurrence. It's like asking to mother nature who's her favourite. For sure you're not. This woman thinks the same and if not for the little act, things would've turned another way.'
On the next day, while Keith was wiping bis head with a wet tissue, a new man entered the room, there was the usual roll of the food kart's wheels but a staggering walk behind. The heavy breath hidden behind was due to a high curiosity amount. Keith had this huge bed for himself now but it was about ten times bigger than him.
The man crossed the room while disfiguring the masked guest, then stopped next to him and said.
"Enjoy your meal."
