Abrak hovered to the ground with the angels following close behind him in silence. The dark clouds overhead were now riddled with bright flashes as thunder could be heard. As soon as Abrak's foot touched the ground a light drizzle came down which made the angels a bit disturbed. The mana in the air was definitely abundant and even the angels realized this yet they didn't know why.
[Is this Zora guy the reason for all this abundant mana]
Hannah reached for her satchel and pulled out the aged grimoire. It was quite thin with its leather covering peeling off. The color of the pages was also fading as well but Hannah didn't mind. She only needed it to act as a catalyst for her magic and that would be all. The drizzle was light but the angels were wet by the time they had taken a few steps forward.
Abrak was leading them towards the waiting Zora who was calmly sitting on the charred ground from his awakening. He looked bored but at the same time interested to see how strong his old friend was now.
Abrak didn't mind the light drizzle but kept walking forward at a slow steady pace while keeping his mana within control. His dagger had been pulled out and he was doing a few baton twirls and slices as if he wasn't worried at all.
Alicia unstrapped her bow and held it firmly in her hand. She had studied a bit on water related spells but had no confidence in them. Kyle watched calmly as he gripped the handle of Dyrnwyn. Abrak and Zoro were supposedly old friends and if things didn't go well he would have to think of a way to escape.
"You lot sure are taking your time... why don't you simply warp space and slit my throat, old friend!"
"Because I have no interest in your throat. I would much rather put my dagger through your fucking skull."
Zora grinned wickedly as he enjoyed the insult. It was just like the older days when they were all teammates along with the hero queens. Good days that had unfortunately come to an end. Once Zora remembered this his grin turned into a bitter frown. Those days were far gone and nothing he could do would ever bring them back.
Zora got up with some charred ash all over his hands. He did a few stretches as Abrak and the angels headed his way. They were still a bit too far to engage in close combat but Zora didn't care as he had made a silent promise to himself.
[I'm going to eat Abrak's heart if it's the last thing I do.]
Finally everybody was within striking distance of one another but nobody made a move. Zora frowned even more.
"Why aren't you guys making a move? Fine then I'll go first if that's what you really want."
Zorra stretched his arms forward in a fighting stance as he centered his weight. His frown turned into a grin as his crimson aura enveloped his hands.
"Let's begin!"
Zora's body suddenly disappeared with dust spraying everywhere. Everybody was startled for a moment before the sound of a fast slap could be heard. Kyle and Hannah were the first to react with Kyle turning to see the source of the sound and Hannah opening her grimoire. What they saw was Alicia tossed high into the air with a very red mark on her cheek. Kyle swung Dyrnwyn in a high arc at a silver object heading his way. His swing was abruptly stopped by an open hand that caught Dyrnwyn's blade.
"What the-"
Kyle didn't say another word before he felt a rather heavy object hit him right in the abdomen. He grit his teeth in pain as he felt himself lose his footing. He tumbled back a few paces as the dull sound of Hannah shouting his name could be heard. The speeding silver object came to a halt with an outstretched arm covered in black soil.
"I though you could at least handle a single punch..."
[Flame magic: Fireballs]
With a light crackling sound seven different light sources appeared above Zora's head. He looked up and saw seven fireballs curving towards him at a fast speed. So he in turn disappeared just as the first fireball collided with the tips of his hair. A light pop sound as dirt sprayed everywhere then smoke as the seven fireballs collided just before they hit the ground. Hannah grit her teeth nervously as she began the process to cast her next spell.
"I can't allow you to do that."
Hannah was startled as Zora had appeared right before her in a single moment. Her mouth opened as if she was about to say something and Zora forcibly shut it as he hit her with a quick uppercut. The dull sound was accompanied by a soaring Hannah, the grimoire fell out of her hand. Zora watched as Hannah's body hit the ground hard and was drizzled on by the overhead clouds.
"You lot can't be the people who woke me up... you can't even protect yourselves!"
Zora gave a single glance to each of the angels before turning to look directly at the biggest threat there.
Abrak was still playing with his dagger calmly.
"So you didn't really care about them?"
"They weren't even supposed to be here so they can only blame themselves."
Zora's face contorted into a sinister grin. His glowing hands hadn't lost their aura in the slightest. He still could fight for a good long while but Abrak would take some time to defeat.
"So how do you want to do this?"
"How about you come here and I put this dagger through your eye."
"So just like the old days."
Zora turned towards Abrak and took slow leisurely steps towards him. He completely ignored the angels and this was his first mistake.
"[flame magic: flame rush]"
A bright orange glow appeared in the corner of Zora's vision just before a rather sharp pain from his side. He instinctively looked down to find a sword blade pushing into his flesh and going deeper by the second. He failed to notice the second part of the assault as a resounding kick was heard. Kyle's foot pushed against the nape of Zora's neck. Zora was disoriented for a moment as he felt his body freeze, Kyle used Zora's neck as a sort of stepping stool to flip to the other side with a quick punch to Zora's head. The result was quite satisfying to see as Zora stumbled on his feet and tripped.
Time seemed to slow just as Zorra was about to hit the ground and in a single moment Zora flashed away. Dyrnwyn hit the ground with blue blood coating its blade. Kyle searched around him for any rapid movement and spotted a red flash from his right./
He was about to duck out of the way when something new happened. There was a low whistling sound accompanied by a quick flash of silver.
The next moment Abrak was standing beside Kyle and gripping his dagger tightly as Zora caught it in his hand. Blue blood dripped down Zora's palm as he winced in pain.
"You bastard..."
"I also want to kill you so how about you don't forget me."
