Chapter 46 - Days remaining (4/8), CH 46

(At the grand palace of the elf king)

Abrak was standing in the palace courtyard with his knights fitting on his armor for him. He had an extremely bored expression and only Carish had a smile during this serious situation.

"My king, if you want I would happily give my life to assist you in fighting this person. Need you go fight on your own?"

"I don't need your empty words right now Carish. This person was an old friend of mine and knowing them the first thing they'll do is come towards me wreaking havoc along the way. It be best I fight them alone especially considering how they fight."

"What exactly do you mean my king?"

"Don't worry about it too much."

The knights fitted on the last piece of armor onto the elf king and stood back to admire his presence.

Abrak was adorned in light Mythril armor that gave a dull blue shine in the sunlight. His helmet was in his hands and had two ornamental ram horns on its sides. Abrak put the helmet on and it clicked into place.

Through his visor he could see quite well and he clenched his hands and released them. He could maneuver in the armor which satisfied him quite a bit.

"Well, I'll be off for a few days so if I'm not back by the end of the week then hand over the royal title of queen to my daughter..."

"my king..."

Abrak looked up at the sky and mumbled a chant as his feet lifted off the ground. With a slight push of his feet he rocketed up to the sky leaving a powerful gust of wind behind.

Carish frowned as he watched his king fly off to fight somebody.

{If the king needs his enchanted armor to fight then this person is definitely something to be feared.}

(at the dark forest)

The man from before was now taking a leisurely stroll around the dark sphere. He crushed scorched soil under his feet without a care. He hadn't yet attained full power but had been here for a few days now. He had never thought it would take literal days to regain his power yet here he was. He looked towards the dark sphere that had shrunk in size yet again. He was about to begin his chant before a sharp feeling startled him.

He looked to the sky and frowned, he sensed a very familiar aura heading towards him in a slow pace. Probably conserving power.

"That definitely smells like that son of a bitch Abrak. Guess he decided to stop ignoring me."

The man now had a very sinister grin on his face as he stretched his hands towards the dark sphere. He chuckled as he began his chant. Just once more should be enough to handle good ol Abrak.

***************

"You guys ready?"

"Totally!"

"Then let's be off!"

Alicia carried her bow on her back as it reflected the sunlight in a gold luster. Kyle carried Dyrnwyn in his hand and had a rather cheery smile on his face. Hannah was carrying a leather satchel that had a really old grimoire in it, a present from Sheila. The angels had all revealed their wings to the bright day and with a single flap they rose to the skies leaving behind some maids and cooks bidding them farewell.

Sheila watched from the window of her study as the angels got swallowed by the grey clouds. A smile stitched to her face, she closed up her novel and waved.

{I'll be there soon so please hold on until then...}

The angels themselves felt at peace with the cooler altitude and their wings fully outstretched. Kyle was now sure of it, their wings were growing larger but at what rate he wasn't sure of. He pointed a finger in the direction of the Dark forest and cheerily said.

"Let's do this."

And the angels shot off leaving thin streams of cloud as they rose higher and higher and faster. When they finally reached above the clouds they could see some rainbow shimmering in the distance.

"Are those...the northern lights of this world?"

"Does that mean we're closer to the north pole than we thought..."

"No...this is definitely something else. We're way too far to be seeing them so something is definitely wrong."

"Guess the king of chaos was right."

The angels were flying at startling speeds now as the terrain under them changed rapidly. They didn't really bother with admiring everything as they knew they only had four more days left. Hopefully they could solve it today.

*******************

Abrak flew at his own free pace although he shot right through the clouds pretty quickly. He wanted to conserve power but even so with the armor on he had to be careful not to fly too slowly as the drag could possibly slow him even more. He extended a hand towards a cloud and shot past leaving a sort of nasty gash in the clouds. He laughed at his antics and sped up even farther. He had summoned his divine dagger quite a while ago and was now holding it in his right hand.

He had made a sort of plan to face his old friend and if he guessed right then they hadn't regained full power yet.

His plan was to attack first without conversing as it would make things a lot easier then he would use a clone of his [pyro magic] and they would use the power of the dagger. If all went well he would consume more than he would lose. He really wanted to think of something better but he couldn't so he just leisurely kicked his legs and sped up even faster.

{Hopefully I don't have to deal with those troublesome angels. This is entirely their fault...}

He rose above the clouds steadily as he saw the northern lights in the distance. Those lights had been extending farther and farther by an alarming rate. But something caught his attention to his far left.

"Please don't tell me those specs are..."

In the distance three specs with white extensions were flying at the same speed as Abrak and heading in the same direction. He mumbled a few curses and with a twist of his feet he shot towards them. If the specs were indeed the people he thought they were then they were totally in a lot of trouble.

*************

Kyle had been looking all around them out of boredom as they still had some distance to cover before the fight. He then saw something rather odd like a spec steadily rising out of the clouds like a ghost. The spec seemed to be going at the same speed as the angels but it took Kyle a moment to realize what the spec could be.

"Please don't tell me that spec is..."

The spec seemed to slow down for a moment before it suddenly began a long curve towards them with a large surge of mana following it.

"I think I may have found the elf king guys..."
