Previously when Xiao Jane came back from her father's study ----
"Umm....I said 'Yes' I guess" she said in disinterested tone.
In continuation to that event,
Song Lin's eyes twitched in distrust, she sat on the bed calmly like a non-turbulent flower petal, and made a remark,
"So you are telling me Miss Xiao... that without even pricking the shell of the oyster ...you are ready to accept the material inside it. I mean it's literally selling yourself out girl!"
"So you also think he's an oyester? And what do you think you'll get after removing oyester shell hmm? Pearls? You both are unbelievable!" Letting out the sigh of the final stroke she became silent.
"Wait, I mean seashells....umm...I guess I don't even know what I'm talking about"
Xiao Jane was simply not prepared to explain the conditions, rather, she has been enough done with her personal life that, at this moment, everything feels like a game to her. A big business game! Although she never pursued to be involved in any business.
She's well aware that no value of ones feelings and emotions are taken into account when it comes to business...She was still speechless after hearing the mocking of Song Lin and the hint of disagreement in her words towards the decision she had taken already.
"Who cares what's inside the shell, as long as it doesn't bite me back"
Listening to her weird remarks, Song Lin couldn't help herself anymore and pulled Xiao Jane to sit up from the bed alongside her.
It's been 12 am in the night.
The whole Stars Residence seemed to be fallen in the lap of a deep slumber. Not even a single creak can be heard on the floor. Only the guards outside could be heard gossiping, that too, in very low voice.
It's only Song Lin and Xiao Jane in the house who were completely engulfed in their own thoughts. Sleep was several miles away from the eyes of both.
Song Lin was trying to be reasonable with Xiao Jane's words when suddenly she thought of something strange.
"Ah Jane! I don't know what exactly made YOU to come to this decision....but one I'm curious about one more fact, and that is, why Mo Fengshi is convinced to marry you at the first place? I mean what's the point in marrying someone he doesn't even know or what could be his gain from this marriage?"
The night air coming out of window was a bit chilly.
Mention of the name 'Mo Fengshi' pulled Xiao Jane back to her senses....and after a moment, she started to think deeply about the reason or purpose behind this marriage. If it's beneficial for Xiao Empires, that's the obvious outcome but what's there for Mo family...., or Mo Fengshi to gain from it....
'Is Mo Fengshi really willing to marry me? Or was he also forced by his elders? But why would someone agree to a contractual marriage unless that's beneficial for the involving party.....
It's definitely not like his business is failing....or he is challenged by shareholders of the company....i can't see a reason if he wants to marry me to solve his social or business conflicts. It can't be the only reason.....He could easily refuse if he wanted to!....Is he going to strengthen his position by associating with Xiao Empires, or to gain power as a businessman...*sigh*
Song Lin was worried about what must be going on in her head since she's not aware about any details of this situation.
Xiao Jane's beautiful face started to get tense....
"And I still have no idea if he agreed about this contract marriage or not? He's not forced as well, is he?"
"Little Jane! Think about it girl. Why didn't you ask Father Ming about this part? The part regarding HIS decision? How come you miss this out of all things you asked or heard?"
"Father mentioned a promise or something similar to that, to Mo Fengshi's father....I can't remember his name...have they solely decided this marriage for their children?"
"Oh my god.... does that mean we're not really sure about the likes of the other party yet? What if it leads to some complications later....." Lin said, with a careful thinking, hugging the pillow tight to her chest.
Xiao Jane was render speechless,"...."
Each words coming out from Song Lin's lips were only aiding to grow Xiao Jane's suspicion more and more towards this matter. Why she didn't think about this before? She asked herself.
'Lin Lin is right! What about his agreement? What's his reason? I really need to know it all' she started pressing her head with her hands.
"I know Ah Jane! You are still in dark and far from the real truth and the actual need of this marriage..... but don't you think you could clarify it after talking to Father Ming. You are his daughter after all....and I know for sure that he would never intend to hurt her beloved Ah Jane! Not at any cost!"
"So what should I do Lin Lin?"
"You should ask Father Ming ofcourse silly!! Ask him about their terms and demands, why they agreed, and what about that weird promise to his father or whatever! Get it all in a line."
Xiao Jane faced her and a brim of hope could be seen in her eyes...
"You are right Lin Lin! I should ask him as he's the one who can clarify my doubts... I'm wondering....what about Mother Cheng? Is she aware of this decision?"
"Jane girl! Your thoughts are running in a right direction now! What if Mother Cheng isn't aware of this sudden decision because as I could rely on my thoughts regarding this messy situation.....just now, Mother Cheng should be there to reconcile it for your sake. She's definitely not going to hand you over to some business guy even for the sake of her husband's company, if you don't want!"
Song Lin was indeed right with her remarks towards Mother Cheng. She loved her daughter extremely and would never go against her happiness. But Xiao Jane loved her Father too. He also loved her! Then what's the matter regarding of the company issue and Mo family?
"Ah Jane! What are you going to do now?"
"Lin Lin, lets take a good rest as I am not going to burn this moment, thinking of the events I cannot tackle right away.... You know what, the thought of marrying someone you haven't even seen really is... pathetic!"
With this Xiao Jane switched off bed lamp by her side and pulled the blanket to her neck so that she could cover up her already shaking body.
Song Lin was very familiar with Jane's reaction when she's sad, or happy, or excited, or disappointed.... anything it would be, by now, she's already accustomed to it long ago. She wasn't going to leave her side at any cost, not even if their problems and moods are different. Actually why would it even be different.
She hugged her softly and said, "Ah Jane! I trust you. And believe me I will always be by your side. Don't worry, everything will be sorted out eventually, until then, hang on tight...and yeah have a Good Night!"
With these words Song Lin also pulled the blanket, covered her up and quickly fell asleep, in the world of fantasy.
But opposite to her expectations, Xiao Jane's eyes had no signs of sleep.....she was the one who was unable to break her chain of thoughts.
'Should I consider to meet him first?....Wait, isn't it better than asking Father! Now I know what to do, let's meet that man directly.'
And with this firm decision she let her body melt into soft mattress of the bed, and slumber slowly pulled her down by its side, leading her to world of unconsciousness, as the soft bed engulfed her tired body in deep embrace.
