Around 2am of the night, the Song Manor fell into a hush like silence, filled with mild cricket noises around the garden and night guards chatting around the boundaries.
Two guards were standing near the outermost entrance gate, gossiping of their daily affairs.
Inside the manor, the main hallway was empty, glistening chandeliers could be reflected along the corners but they weren't lighted. It had a common stair covered with long red carpet, going upwards.
The upper floor had multiple rooms, including Song Lin's and Xiao Jane's. But they prefer to occupy a single room since they are always working outside of the house, and were meeting after a very long time.
Entering into the Song Lin's room, the large queen bed contained two queens, but the luxury was of no help to Xiao Jane's sleep.
'He's just a sweet dream, a mirage in my deserted thoughts. Why is it so difficult for me to trust him, yet I cannot help feeling all these weird things.'
