"Three, two, one," I said quietly.
I pushed the button and looked at The Institute.
It began to blow from underground. All the Railroad members walked to the edge of the mountain. I followed them also. Dad and Nick walked with me. We all watched as The Institute exploded. That when I knew The Commonwealth was better, better for the world.
Shortly after the blast ended I walked over to Shawn. He looked happy and sad at the same time.
"That was my home. I lived there longer than anyone, and now it's gone. All my people, my friends, gone. At least The Commonwealth has a chance now," Shawn said sadly.
"You know you weren't supposed to grow up in there. You were supposed to live with Dad and I."
"Yes I know and now that The Institute is gone I will live with you and Dad for the rest of my life. I will make up for all those years I missed with you."
"It wasn't your fault, it was that place, but mostly Kellogg."
He laughed a little, and I laughed too.
