The first look I took out of 111 was so bright I could not even see. Once I got used to it I could not believe what happened to the world. Everything was destroyed, my home, the world everything you looked at was ruined. I looked at Dad, he looked at me and I could tell he already had the face of someone who's seen too much. I wondered if her saw Mom die. Was the image of his son being kidnapped tattooed in his brain? He motioned to move so together we both took our first step into a new world. We walked home together, thinking why? Why would anyone do this, end the world, take a child, and kill someone who was not even doing anything. As I thought more into it I realized this was normal. everyone's messed up in some form or another and these people most likely had a reason for their actions but it was Dad and I's job to figure out what that was.
We went back to our house and sat down on the floor because there were no more chairs. Dad asked me what I saw when they took Shawn. I didn't know what to say.
"Not much, a bald guy and someone in a hazmat suit," I told him.
"We should go over to the town to see if anyone knows where to look." I thought that was a pretty good idea because we really have no other option if we want to find Shawn. I knew dad would do anything for his son so I had to do the same, he is my brother.
"Dad?"
"Yeah?"
"I was just thinking, what if we look this hard and Shawn is, you know...."
"Gone? He isn't, I can feel it, he's out there and we're gonna find him, one way or another." We crossed the bridge separating our town and Concord, the town next to ours and went over to Red Rocket gas station near the town, and found a small, but fierce German shepherd lying on the pavement of Red Rocket. I walked up to the little guy and pet him on his ear. He looked excited to see someone. I looked at Dad and he told me that we can keep him. I pet my new dog and we continued down the old road. The dog ran as fast as he could down the dirt road and didn't even notice that he ran right into an older lady. The lady didn't seem at all mad or annoyed at us or the dog, instead pet his tiny back. He laid right next to her feet and she sat down on the floor next to him.
"I'm so sorry about that miss, do you know this dog?" I asked.
"Why yes I do, and please, it was perfectly fine. Dogmeat used to come everywhere with me before a terrible accident I had a few years back and wasn't my old self anymore. Then after years of forgetting about him, he showed up on my birthday in my backyard. I still to this day say it was a gift from God himself. Well anyway enough with my story, my point is now he is yours. Do you need something?" She asked.
"Yes, do you know where we could get some food and some information about my lost brother?" I asked the lady.
"You should head over to Diamond City. The Great Green jewel of The Commonwealth, I used to live there when I started 5th grade..." She went on for 10 more minutes until Dad finally told her that we had to go. Before we left she told us that if we keep going south we will get to Diamond City. So we left the nice lady and went south.
