TAKAHASHI
A knock came through the door of the study. I already had a glass of whiskey ready.
"Come in."
I watched the door swing open. Paul walked in. As always, his expression was stoic.
He paused by the table, greeting me with a polite bow.
"We lost the guns. Kenichi Yomota's men are dead. And so as ours. They didn't clean up either, but left the corpse to the police. An investigation is going on. But, you have nothing to worry about. The investigation would hardly reach us."
I smiled. The whiskey bottle was also already opened. I reached for it and poured myself a glass.
Raising for a toast to Paul, I smirked.
"Your services and loyalty will not go unrewarded, Paul. I can assure you of that. Your little girl will be well taken care of and all of your woman's hospital bills will be paid for."
I watched Paul closely. His face remained expressionless. However, I know that his thoughts are somewhere far away.
