Jim who was expecting Joshua to desperately justify himself was shocked with Joshua's reply, he wanted to find a loophole which was possible only if Joshua spoke more but instead his reply was on point and Jim was now not sure if his opinion of Joshua is right or wrong.
On the other hand, Amara was impressed with Joshua's answer, if he would have tried to justify himself, she would have rather thought he is just like other associates and would have thought her opinion was wrong but with this kind of reply she was now surer that this guy is not what he seems to be.
Jim and Amara initially had similar thoughts about Joshua but one reply from him was able to partially convince Jim that he probably is wrong but with Amara it had an opposite reaction, he couldn't change her thoughts even a bit and rather her doubts of him just increased.
James then again asked Jim, "What do you think now?"
