After their prey was famished and dehydrated to the point that they no longer had any energy, the Long-Eared Sand Foxes would then kill them.
The strongest person in the Horseshoe Tribe was Ta Lei's grandfather, whose main fey was the Silver Tunneling Mole.
Although the pinnacle Silver Tunneling Mole was stronger than the Long-Eared Sand Foxes, it would not be able to fight against a group of Long-Eared Sand Foxes in the wilderness.
