One week has passed and the teachers remarked my students as efficient magic users as the 3rd years.
"May I talk to you, Sir Arthur?"
The principal approached me.
I sat beside the principal and we discussed the national tournament.
"Sir Arthur, the national tournament is on January 15th. So, we still have 7 months. We will have all the students from 1st – 3rd year to battle each other to determine who will represent this school."
"Is it a class or solo fight, sir?"
"A solo one. The winner of the national tournament will have a secured future at the department of magic or even become the king's personal mage."
"I see. I get the gist of it. I'll talk with my students about it, sir."
The principal stood up and pat me on my shoulder.
"I have high expectations for you and your students, Sir Arthur."
"I will be sure to achieve your expectations, sir."
"I'll be off."
He left while waving his hand.
While we were talking, my students are practicing their strongest magic on the arena.
I went down in the center to guide them.
"Xandra, you're using Wind Magic and Water Magic. Try combining both to form a Typhoon. Using that two magic, you can control the weather to your will."
"Dolly, study the spell Revitalize. It's also a wide-are healing spell. Don't worry, there are no consequences on using that. "
I saw Scarlet in one of the arena entries, frowning.
"What's wrong, Scarlet? Why aren't you practicing with them?"
"My magic is weak."
"No magic is weak, Scarlet. I told you, right? The strength of magic relies on your emotion. When you're angry, you anguish, you feel imminent danger, that's when your true potential shows. Yes, there are gifted people like me who do not rely on our emotions for our spell to be stronger but remember, we, gifted, once don't know how to use magic at all. Please try your best."
"Okay, Sir."
"Okay. Try casting a spell. Any spell."
Scarlet casted a heavenly-body spell.
"Scarlet. You have gift. Practice that magic everyday. The magic you used is called Zodiac. You summoned the constellation Gemini, the warmest of them all. Listen carefully. Focus on maximizing your magic power first. The Zodiacs are heavenly beings and they will not consider you their master if you're weaker than them so please, do as I say."
"Thank you, Sir Arthur!"
Scarlet hugged me all of a sudden and the other girls saw.
"Sir! Let's have a duel!"
A challenge by Amelia.
"You now learned how to manipulate mana?"
"Secret."
"Okay. Students, to the audience's seat please."
My students went to the audience's seat to watch the duel between me and Amelia.
"Do not hold back, Teacher."
"That depends on what performance you show me."
Then all of a sudden, I saw plasma-like balls surrounding me in different sizes. It happened so fast that I didn't have a time to react.
All of the balls exploded but my anti-magic defense kicked in so, it didn't leave a single scratch.
"Did I get him?"
"I would have been a goner if that hit me."
Doing a stretching while talking to Amelia.
"Not a scratch?!"
"You really didn't hold back on me, Amelia."
"You might want to look up?"
I didn't know that while I was talking to her, she used the spell Meteor Strike.
"That's big! New record! Even I wasn't able to pull that big! Amazing!"
I am so amazed by how she pulled a big meteor to enter Earth's Atmosphere using Gravity Magic but, that shows her talent.
My sixth sense surpassed its limits, enabling me to destroy the meteor in a blink of an eye and cornering Amelia with condensed mana on my hand.
"That's cheating, Teacher!"
Amelia teased me.
"You're the one who's going overboard! That Meteor's huge and if it landed, it would kill all your classmates! Think before you do something reckless, idiot!"
I flicked her forehead and she admitted her defeat.
Little did I know, Ms. Emilia's with my students at the audience's seat, watching my duel with Amelia.
I sat beside Amethyst and it was an illusion!
Ms. Emilia's the one really beside me!
I am now drinking water due to the liquids I loss while pulverizing the meteor.
"Oh my. What a battle. You could put the Department of Magic out of business, Sir Arthur."
Emilia leaned on my shoulder and I accidentally spitted the water I'm drinking to Amelia.
"Disgusting shit!"
"I'm sorry, Amelia. Out of shock."
"Tsk."
Amelia left to change her uniform.
"Sir Arthur, are you free tonight?"
"I don't know, may be. Why?"
"Let's have a dinner at my place."
"No. Absolutely not."
"Why?"
"Got no interest. That's all."
After we had our conversation, I called my students to go back to our classroom.
"Sorry, Ms. Emilia."
Before we left the arena, Ms. Emilia shouted.
"I LOVE YOU!"
My students started teasing me.
To make them quiet, I jokingly tried to remove my ring.
Gladly, they get what I mean.
"I'll make you mine! Mark my words!"
We're already outside the arena yet her voice still reverberates through the walls.
Out of nowhere, Amelia held my hands as we walk back to the classroom.
