"You're majesty" I looked up from my book it was one of the guards I signalled him to enter he bowed then entered "your majesty there has been a sighting we have found the maid" I stood up from my chair and hurried out the guard followed "she's in the dungeon you're majesty" he shouted behind me I ran down the stairs past the staff who greeted me as I ran down the corridors to get to the dungeon I got to the double doors that led to the dungeon there was a guard standing there with a gun in his hand
"Open the door" I demanded the guard bowed and opened the door I entered the dungeon and walked down the dim corridor there were a lot of cells down here made of metal bars but they were all empty there weren't many criminals the people that were held here in the past by the king were good people so I let them all go. I soon stopped walking as I spotted Valerie she was sat in the cell that consisted of a very thin and uncomfortable looking mattress she was sat against the very dirty looking wall she had her knees up to her chest and her arms on her knees with her head on her arms as I got closer I cleared my throat she looked up she had tears in her eyes she sniffed and wiped her tears with her hands as she stood up she came to the bars
"Your majesty" she bowed her head and said in a very low whisper that if it hadn't been pin drop quiet I would've missed it I scoffed she looked up looking confused I folded my arms across my chest and shook my head at her slowly she looked down as I folded my hands behind my back and tilted my head to the side as I spoke
"Why?" I asked in a whisper she looked up at me and shook her head she turned away from me
"I don't know" she answered as she threw her arms up to the side and then threw them down she scratched her forehead and sniffed again she turned to me and tilted her head to the side like she was trying to figure me out she sat down and started talking "I fell in love" she said "with the king" she stated louder "and you killed him" she shouted " I hated you for what you did so I wanted you to pay"
"what about what he did to me, to my mum, to his people" I asked she shook her head and shrugged
"Nothing to do with me" she answered I scoffed
"Are you serious are you not from this planet" she shook her head and shrugged "I will decide what to do with you later" I told her then turned and left knowing exactly what I was going to do.
