Chapter 1 - Prologue

I still remember everything about her. The way her eyes darted around with a lost look constantly present on her face. The way the sheen of sweat always coated her palms in nervousness. The way her long blonde hair would tumble down her sagged shoulders.

A nervous shadow of innocence. The delusional dumb witted daughter of a dead aristocratic mother and a rich never present father. But ever since their death, their names were no longer a part of the high-class conniving society and neither was she groomed as one either. And thank the gods that she was not an aristocrat for then, she couldn't have done something so far beyond the societal mind either. It was the perfect balance of chaos and peace. A masterpiece of the human mind in itself and yet at its very roots it was tragic. Beautiful and fascinating but tragic nonetheless.

Bathed under the soft moonlight, there she stood behind the trees overlooking her mansion. Veiled in a black cloak, she stood there still. Motionless like the dead. Her lifeless eyes watched the dim lights of their room jaded by the loud noises of the mating couple. The very scene of betrayal unfolding in front of her eyes. She had loved them with all her heart and they repaid with such cruelty. The veil of love lifted and now anger coursed through her veins. She waited for him to leave, watched his body twist in the heat of the arousal. He barely waited after they were done, dressing himself and leaving immediately like she was a common whore. She deserved better than that but then that was always her folly.

Through the lace pattern of her veil she watched him step out of the door, a twig snapped that very moment. Turning his head in her direction. But, he couldn't see her. No one could see her anymore. Just a hidden part of the night, acknowledged only by the moon.

His eyes scanned the area in nervousness before he walked out, dismissing his fear of being caught.

She waited, her fingers brushing in circles over the button that held the cloak close, fastening and unfastening it in her neurotic agitation.

When, she thought it was safe to leave, she rung the bell and stood at the door. Waiting. Watching her swollen lips part in a yawn as the door gave away. The lace of the cloak twirled around the hilt of the blade, as her grip became firm. Her fingers stroking in the wood.

Her hands did hesitate for a moment before the hard metal edge of the knife pierced the woman's heart. She fell down her body limp and her eyes wide. She staggered and writhe in pain as death claimed her this time. Andrianna stood there. The door locked behind. She stood there with an endearing smile pasted on her lips and took in one moment to watch her. Taking in the beauty that lay in front of her. Even death could not take away Galescia beautiful face that lay there. She knelt down on her knees, pushing behind the stray strand of hair that tumbled on her forehead.

Her eyes came back in focus as Andrianna saw what the woman in black had done. Her cheeks paled in horror, with the knife still in her hand she ran.
