Athena woke up with a start. Her room was empty.
There was no one there.
Did those things even happen?
Or did she dream them up?
Athena was not sure.
For when she turned on the lights she saw that the word that she assumed had written on the wall was gone. The side of her palm was completely healed without even a scratch.
And yet there remained the smell of musk and a new letter perched on the side table.
"Anastasia, I am not a hearts and flowers kind of man... I don't do romance. My tastes are very singular. You should steer clear of me."
He closes his eyes as if in defeat.
"There's something about you, though, and I'm finding it impossible to stay away. But, I think you've figured that out already.
