The sun shone brightly and the young man jogging to meet his beloved was filled with joy.
This was the day. After all these weeks, he had now gotten the courage to bring up the subject with her.
With how things have been moving he was a little positive that she'll understand.
He couldn't also help but to be filled with dread for the possiblity of her turning him down.
But seeing his beloved and the rays of the sun shimmering her beautiful dark hair, his anxieties went out the window. He jogged to her with a breathtaking smile on his face.
The smile on her boyfriend's face took her breath away. She couldn't believe that he belonged to her.
Sometimes, she'll wake up scared that the past few days has been a dream until she'll hear the sound of his message, asking of her night.
To him, she was the epitome of perfection. Her smooth and beautiful dark skin, her big brown eyes that drew him in every time.
Her pink pouty lips that drives him crazy. Her silky black hair. Her long eyebrow that make her eyes pop, her swoon worthy curves.
Oh! her laughter and her voice. Absolute perfection.
His heart throbbed and his wild eyes became gentle, as if he was gazing at a sweet and delicate baby.
He stood still and opened his arms for her. She quickly ran into his embrace. They shared a passionate kiss before they strode into the park, hand in hand.
Aiden held Yolanda's hand like the most valuation treasure and lead her to a bench behind a bush of flowers.
He sat and gazed into her beautiful honey brown orbs. He was scared and anxious. He hands felt clammy and his clothes sticked to his from perspiration. He was very uncomfortable, but he had to tell her.
Yolanda got worried over Aiden's silence and couldn't help asking ,
"Aiden, what's it? You look uncomfortable."
He breathed in and out to calm his racing heart.
" Yola, do you believe in supernatural beings?"
She burst into laughter and picked his shoulder playfully.
"Of course I don't, how is it possible."
"But you read a lot of supernatural books."
" Well, it's quite interesting. But I don't believe they're real."
Aiden got more anxious, how was he supposed to tell someone who didn't believe in supernaturals believe that her boyfriend is one.
Gathering all the courage in his bones, he let the cat out of the bag,
"Yola, I'm a vampire"
She smiled at him held his hand.
" Aid, Come on, stop joking around. You said you had something very important to tell me. What is it? What's so difficult to talk about between us that you have to result to these childish jokes
Tell me. You know that I'm here for you."
" Yola, I'm not joking around. I'm serious, I'm a vampire and you're my mate, my beloved." He ran his fingers through his hair, tugging at the roots.
" How do you expect me to believe something as ridiculous as that? Come on, whatever that's bothering you we can work it out together. Just let it out." She caressed his hands and spoke to him with soft cooey voice as if talking to a child.
"You don't believe me, then let me show you."
Aiden opened his mouth and his elongated fangs came to view, his eyes turned to blood shot red.
Yolanda immediately let go of his hands as if scorched by fire. She fell onto the ground. She crawled on her ass, and moved slowly and hurriedly away form Aiden.
Disgusting and fear filled her honey brown eyes.
Aiden stood up to help her but she immediately scurried from the floor and ran away.
*****
He yelped and sprung up from his bed.
He looked the opposite of his usually cheery self. He was coated in sweat from the tips of his head to the tips of his toes.
His eyes were filled with fear hopelessness. He looked like he'd been dragged from the pits of hell. His blanket, pillow and the bed on which he slept were soaked with sweat. That's how serious it was.
He was breathing heavily. Although he and Yolanda have just gotten together, and could not even be called a couple yet.
He really liked her. He has started developing feelings for her, deep ones.
His door was pushed open and both Everlette and Mr. Han entered his room.
Upon seeing his disposure, Everlette said a few words to her, after he left, she went to it beside Aiden on his bed.
She held his hand and ran the back of his palm in softly and firmly, calming the raging storms in his heart.
"You okay Aid?" For the past two years, she has really taken this annoying boy to be her brother.
Although she always bully him, she did really care about him. On her defence, she was the only one allowed to bully this brother of hers, anyone else would have to taste her fists.
Apart from the day Aiden told her about his past, she hadn't seen him like this. Him wearing his emotions on his sleeves and his emotions awry.
At that point, Aiden felt so glad to see Everlette in his room. Although she bullied him most of the time, he knew this little sister of his really cared about him. She was also the only who understood him at that point in time.
"She looked at me would such disgust and fear, Ever. She ran away form me. " He broke into tears and doved into her arms. With his head on his shoulder, he broke down and let out all the fear, uncertainty, and anguish in his heart.
Feeling the warmth of his tears running his to her bosom, she became tongue-tied. Before Aiden, she didn't have a lot of interactions with people.
She sucked at deciphering her emotions, much less others. But hearing the anguish in his voice, she couldn't help but want to try her best to help him.
She wrapped her arms around his shaking body and sang to him. She hoped it'd work because she wasn't very good with words. She preferred to put her feelings into actions instead.
🎵I see your monsters
I see your pain
Show me your problems
I'll chase them away
I'll be your lighthouse
I'll make it okay
When I see your monsters
I'll stand up so brave and chase them all away🎵
