Chapter 4 - The library - Chapter 1

An artificial becon of humanity, a being that escaped the inevitable fate, the last concept that would determine the fate of humanity.

The summoning process has complete.

"Good day, sir. Amil. Do you find yourself at home in my library?"

Hm... Their reaction is still processing.

"No?"

Maybe the summoning...?

No... I should not worry myself over something trivial.

At the very least, their eyes are fully functioning.

"Oh dear, I forgot to prepare us some tea! What a terrible host I am. Fufu... Well now, sit and relax whilst I get you something to drink."

For the time being, I'll just make some green tea and hasten the clock for a few minutes.

"You're awfully quiet for the past minute or two. Mind sharing your thoughts about my sweet abode?"

Their eyes pointed at my direction, yet they still have no response to what I say.

"Sign~ honestly, you're quite depressing to look at."

Their eyes speaks none. Dejected, lost... As if its existence was only to breathe.

"Tis' quite a troubling predicament. I summoned you successfully. Yet, an anomaly occurred along with it.

Sign~

It seems that I cannot perform another casting without that relic... Oh well, I guess I'm stuck with you for the time being."

I should prepare the table before the water boils.

Even a short moments past, their eyes never seems to lighten.

Another moment past, and the water should be warm by now. My guest still can't move, nor react to what I say.

"Here, have some green tea." Maybe It's not wise to brew a cup for a living mannequin. No, no... I shouldn't think like that about the guest. "... Truth be told, I already prepared myself to entertain you for occasions such as this. As the matter of fact, I am supposed to judge you if you are capable in taking a huge task on your back. Albeit, on every archetype of personalities that I have read and prepared on, it never crossed my mind that there would be a literal blank sheet would exist.

So dear guest, forgive me for not entertaining you, also forgive my audacity to ask you huge favour."

Lavish though my voice rings no fruitful avail, shall it be a human or not, I have no choice to set things in motion. More so or less than what may the future holds, I shall be content if they could achieve what it is given to them.

"I want you to get a relic that was once a concept that gives man a choice. A miracle that would bring back that was once lost. A relic manifesting that very concept - The relic of Ausra - [The concept of rebirth]"

I raised my hand calling forth the ruins this place holds, "This library - this very last setting, it was born by the collection of the human consciousness. A place that collects the essence of humanity itself - -" what construct in front of my fingertips was a symbol that controls the library's comprehension and what it acknowledged. "... As the library's resident, the observer of the lost beings, I cast you this contract - -!"

> I order you to retrieve the relic <
