Chapter 1 - Introduction

~Amanda's diary~

May 23, 1870

Dear diary, uh, my name's Amanda, I'm eighteen and this is how I found my happily ever. I know that it all started because my country is at war with another country. I was walking home when a guy grabbed me. I did try to get away, but he pulled me into the forest. I knew what he was going to do and I was scared, but then he came - my hero.

I heard my kidnapper yelling in pain, I jumped back - scared - when I saw him. His hair was chestnut brown, his eyes were dark brown but his skin was fair. I was entranced until he knelt down to help me up. I knew that I was going to be safe, so I took his hand and I was brought home. I am grateful that he saved me and I know that he's from a neighboring country.

When I got home my parents were worried sick that I had disappeared and they were glad that I was safe. Now I know that I am excited to see what happens next, believe me, I am very excited. I even told myself but now I'm off to bed so, goodnight guys. I cannot wait for tomorrow. It's going to be a lot of fun.

~Diary ends~

I let out a small smile and then I felt a smile come on my face. I assume it's because of how I cannot help but be grateful for the man who saved me today. 'Its not every day when things like that happens. I understand that I cannot go out that often but I can always be happy with be able to every now and then.' I thought then I blow out my candle and climb into bed to go to sleep, I really need to rest.,

-Alexander's journal-

May 23, 1870

I am now sitting in my room, writing in my journal and thinking about what I just did today. That girl...that girl that I saved today. She was so beautiful. I want her to live with me. Tomorrow I will go to her house and talk to her parents and her.

I hope she accepts my request. Oh, what am I saying, of course she will, she'll be here safe and sound with me. On the other hand, I mean...her long flowing black hair, her beautiful brown eyes, and her very fair skin, fairer than mine, she's so beautiful that she couldn't possibly accept to live with me. I think that her parents will say otherwise, I mean, she HAS to be at least eighteen years old. And she does look old enough to move out of her parents house, if she does then I won't let ANYTHING happen to her!

-Journal ends-

I closed my journal and poundered about the girl and her country. 'She definitely comes from a royal family, perhaps her family is related to the crown. Her country is definitely in war with another. That can indeed be dangerous, I remember her parents telling me on how she would go out at night to try and figure out if there is anything she can do to help her people. It is indeed a wonderful trait but she cannot do it on her own perhaps I can help her out.' I thought and then I grabbed a book, realizing that I cannot sleep - perhaps this will help me get some sleep and even more ideas on how to help her out on her goal to help her people.

~The next day~

~Amanda's POV~

I woke up to see that there was a sunrise outside my morning. It is awfully rare for me to see it, due to where I live but I am very happy to see it. 'I know that this will be a wonderful day for me. It seems to be a great day for me to be able to go outside and stroll through the garden.' I thought as I saw two of my maids with my clothing in their arms and so I sat up nodding my head for them to come and help me get ready for this day.

Once I was all said and ready for my day, with my clothing on, my hair and makeup all done I smiled and said my thank you to the maids. Once they left, the head butler - Joshua - came in with my morning tea and to tell me what my schedule will be for today. "So today, we are going to have a few different people come in and they are expecting you to entertain their daughters throughout the day." He started and I nodded my head to inform him that I do indeed understand all of what he is saying. He zoned on with my schedule as I continued to drink my tea and occasionally speaking to him about my schedule.

Surprisingly, I realized that my day wasn't going to truly be that packed for me which is a bit of a breath for me. Normally my days would be always busy which would make me so exhausted by the end of the day. Since I do not have that much to do for today I will have enough time for me to be relaxed so I know that I will always be healthy. I understand that if I was far too stressed then I will become a bit sick which will lead to bloodletting and I do not want that to happen at all. No one really wants to deal with that type of medicine at all.

I let out a sigh once I spotted the first family come in, the family is definitely the same as mine, only two daughters - around my age no mistake - no sons. 'At least they do have two children, I was cursed with being an only child.' I thought and I made haste to meet my parents to greet the family into our home. "I am very proud that you came here quickly to greet this family with us Amanda, you never fail us my sweet daughter." My father said and I smiled at him and made a quick little comment on how I was taught to never keep my visitors waiting for such a long time from when I was very young which is very true.
